I disagree, the whole air about LFS is its realism and in true to life races, you get the black flag for that one race!

The moths to light is a good analogy of this idea. The red dot will only attract attention to one persons questionable judgement of anothers' actions. Not a good thing (you should be on the receiving end of this - I have I crashed into someone once and they sent a message out to everyone that I was a wrecker - instantly I got banned).

If a person consistantly is a wrecker/nuisance (ie people vote them off - say twice in one day), then the server should ban then PERMANENTLY or at least for a set period of time - say 14 days.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the advice, the most useful is the SHIFT+S, I am sure that saved me some bans

I am taken aback by the friendly nature of most people online. Hey and one guy - sorry forgot name - got me to follow him around the track and taught me a lot about breaking points and best line. Cheers - you know who you are.

Anyways - IMO once the physics mod has been done (I understand that is the next mod to come in). I still think that some kind of ranking and skill matching would be good. There is nothing more frustrating joining a race where everyone laps you more than once in a 5 lap race.

With the vast possibilities of this game/simulation, I am sure the large populous will forever expand and eventually more servers will be required and ranking will therefore be even more pertinent.

Once again - you are great guys, thanks for the welcome - and if you see me online - blow your horn as you see me stuck on some verge somewhere! (ooh errrr missus)
Servers should have a min and max limit on driver abilities.

I am a newbie, and I find it quite frustrating when joining online games where I am quite clearly outclassed by season and veteran racers. (Hat's off to the guys who beat me by driving backwards! No mean feet though ) But how else can I enjoy the full aspects of LFS? Offline racing is good - Online is better - that's what LFS is all about - Racing against people worldwide! And I use the DEMO servers on occasions - but hey I've paid for the full game - I deserve to try out the other tracks etc.
Do you think it would be possible to classify users by their experience by using their credits, total mileage and lap times for each course? This would mean that servers can then be pre-selective of what types of drivers they allow.

I ask this as just a few nights ago the following happened: I crashed and landed my car on the curb and therefore couldn't move (most would think thats unlucky). Eventually (and inevitably) someone crashed into me - which sent me spinning. Then before I could get going again, someone else clipped me as I was starting off, they spun off and I drove straight into the back of them. PANTS! I appologised but before I could scratch my head - they sent out a message saying I was a Wrecker seconds later I was booted out illepall

This incident (and others like it) just proves that my ability is very limited (though I get good enough to beat everyone - including YOU lmao) and a list of servers that only have my level of drivers on it would have been far more challenging for all involved.

Another way of doing this is for a user to advertise their level of competence in an open room within the LFS Multiplayer screens - where others can "INVITE" them to a race or they are queued into a list where they are eventually connected to a free server for 1 race only then they are returned to the Open room.

These are a newbies thoughts so be kind

I hope to beat you all soon - or at least drive an online race without crashing will do.

Ah well - back to practice my racing doughnuts (OFFLINE OF COURSE).
