sounds like you're missing drivers. I wouldn't bother with motherboard drivers, just update gpu drivers.

I have a gigabyte mobo(78LMT-S2P) running an AMD Athlon II x2 @ 3.1ghz.

Now not that I'm complaining or anything, maybe i am, ok i am. What upgrade can i make, more specifically which AMD PHENOM will this mobo take? I haven't the slightest clue where to start. My life with computers starts with GPU's and ends with RAM. When it comes to a CPU i have no clue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
