I'd love to see an old 70's style racing car from the old British saloon car championship or even an old 70's Nascar. That'd be cool. Or just have a stripped out race car. That's equally be as cool!
I love LFS and first played it in December 2011 about 4 months after first coming to China. I seldom race online simply because I am not that competitive but it's nice to see that I'd be welcome. I'm heading back home (U.K) this August and once I have a half decent computer set up I'll take you up on that offer!
Yeah the firewalls here do not help....nor does the awful internet speed. Silly commies! Nah, the Chinese are great....mad, but great!
BTW what do you make of the new Rockingham layout? It's in my hometown (Northamptonshire) and my house is about 10 miles away from Silverstone. When the F1 is there I can hear the cars form my house!
I have cycled round Silverstone on my bike and watched ASCAR and the British or the world super bikes, I forget which one, at Rockingham way back in 2002. I saw Steve Hislops last ever race when he crashed his bike into the wall. I was looking elsewhere when the crash happened but I was there. It's so weird to drive round that track in LFS and especially knowing I am in China but it's all cool.
Thanks for the kind words buddy and I'll race online more often once I'm home.
Good evening all from smoggy old Stupidland. I've created a time trial layout for Westhill International X.
It uses the perimeter road next to the second from last corner on the international course that starts from behind the stands and goes past the perimeter crossroads and follows the road up and round until the main Westhill cat park. Immediately to the left of the finish line is a small pit however the is also a well directed route back to the start straight, just up after the finish line.
There are six start positions for online racing though this is most enjoyable for personal bests.
Please let know of any bugs/stupid stupiding. Thanks!
P.S The second from last corner of the time trial is a tough one. I could have left the corner as it was without the barriers but I feel they offer a little bit of a challenge. I hope poo enjoy the layout!
Also, has anyone made a 'pit' sign as an object in the layout editor? I could really use one!
Xiao Bai.
I HAVE NOW ADDED SOME CHALK 'AHEAD' LINES AFTER THE FIRST CORNER. THE COURSE IS ESSENTIALLY STRAIGHT. JUST FOLLOW THE ROAD AROUND THE FIRST CORNER AND KEEP FOLLOWING IT UNTIL THE FINISH LINE! THANKS!
Sorry to post this as I'm sure it has been posted before. However, I see a lot of fed up racers and critics on here saying Live For Speed is finished; I just installed the latest version with the new Westhill layout and am absolutely flabbergasted at how amazing it is. The developers have done a simply FANTASTIC job and yes I needed to use capital letters when writing 'fantastic'. The track looks great!
Westhill was a little bit boring originally but now it's the best track in the game. Some of the roads surrounding the track are eerily similar to the old Crystal Palace race track. I suppose this is just coincidental or is it just me?
Scawen, Eric and Victor; Thank you and please don't lose heart. This game is still the daddy of sim racers; and the only one that still feels like you are actually there at the track racing for real. Other games may have better graphics but LFS is the only one that has the spirit of motor racing nailed to a tee.
Congratulations boys on a job FANTASTICALLY done! and with the caps lock again!
I'm now off to hibernate and pretend I'm Gerry Marshall racing at the old Palace circuit in the early seventies. Huzzah!
He's Chinese. Facepalms and sarcasm go right over their heads. The Chinese are a very friendly and welcoming group of people but they have been isolated from the world so long they have no concept of any form of humor outside of their borders. Really.
You'd be surprised that despite what people think, they are a poorly educated lot who are book smart but have no practical usage whatsoever. They are a nice bunch of lads though to be fair, they just have no concept of the world outside of China. 我喜欢他们可是他们不明白我们的幽默.

I thought I'd create a skin as a tribute to one of my favourite films. It looks a bit dodgy but I tried to stick to the original colour of the Plymouth. If you've never seen this awesome movie, you really must. It's Steven Spielberg's first!
My god you have a rather fine talent for re-creating engine sounds. Might I kindly ask if you could recreate the Ferrari sound used in 'C'était un rendez vous'?
This was in no way inspired by Top Gear's 'The Perfect Road Trip' special. It was especially not inspired by the decals on the passenger side of Jeremy's BMW Z4 rally car. No, not at all...
Don't get me wrong, I agree the game needs more features. I understand you've been here for years, but try giving LFS a break. Maybe you've forgotten the reason you played it in the first place?
I've played racing games all my life and none have ever really bored me. I understand what you mean though. It can get a little monotonous. Just give it a break for a while. Does the world of good.
My passion is music and guitars In this summer I stopped in playing and listening to music for a few months. Only just picked the guitar back up again last week and then found an awesome new website for free music called Jamendo. Made me realize how much I love music.
The crazy thing is, most, if not all the tracks of the world were like that then. Even in Nascar. It really makes you appreciate the safety standards we have today. Sure the sport is still dangerous but at least the fatalities have almost disappeared and the tracks are 100% better than the early days of motor sport.
Just took this picture this morning. I rolled the car coming towards turn one on the reverse circuit and thought I'd take this photo.
Also, I read some comments from people saying they're bored with LFS. Dude, there are many other racing games out there you can try. If you're bored with the racing on here, let me suggest a game with should entertain you. Mario Kart for example. Does wonders that game does. I mean the SNES version. It still a fantastic game to play and it's still racing!
