Quote from SamH :By way of an apology, we hope you'll all accept the significant points bonus you all received that day for kicking seven bells of pooh out of the lap record for WE1R

Thanks and sorry if I was "ranting" too much, but you can imagine how I felt after receiving "lifetime ban" for doing nothing, especially on April 1st

Since I can't reply to your PM (I can't even defend myself or what?), here is my reply:

Quote from Becky Rose :I checked your licence notes and they say the following:

Quote from Your Licence Notes :
09/04/2007: -36154. Banned for cheating.
MaraZ - XRT

2. 0:47.210

This implies that you have a lifetime ban for exploiting LFS to produce unreasonable lap times on April 1st. The result of which caused serious disruption to other racers at a later date when everyone racing got kicked for being too slow because of your fake lap record.

I assume it's some kind of April Fool's Day joke and that there is no way that you would believe I didn't do anything wrong in that 5 lap race?

Ok, here is what happened on that day: I just installed patch W and went to the stcc server. There was map change and it showed "Westhill Club". Great! New track in W! Well, to my (and others) biggest disappointment, we found ourselves on FE Club (look at the times - those are NOT times for XRT on Westhill and qstomek was even faster than me on lap 4 in that race). Did you ban for life every other driver who happened to be on the stcc server that day? Or maybe I'm the only one who experienced this? Anyway giving lifetime ban without throrough investigation is really ridiculous...

I lost all the points since last visit to stcc server (had platinum, about 60% if I'm not mistaken). What's more, I can't even join "new & bronze" - it says "host connection refused". What might have happened? My lfs name is maraz.

For me the last race in this season wasn't very good, but still I finished 7th (equal points with Huru-aito in 6th) in the overall standings, so I'm quite happy with that Anyway 12th place after starting from 8th was rather disapointing result. Don't know if I had too much wing, as I was driving on R3 tyres with FZR and otherwise car would be probably sliding too much, or simply if I had bad setup. XRR-guys were much faster on the straights - Torben passing me with ease on 2nd lap was good example, no to mention "flying Frank"

Then I made mistake running over grass and lost three or four places, but after that it was not that bad. I was able to pass few guys and the race itself was very clean, at least from my point of view. I was realistically thinking about top ten finish, but then made really stupid mistake right before my last stop - went too fast into the pits and bang, 8-10 seconds lost on the spot + additional repairs That's not all - in the closing stages I thought my tyres would not last the distance and when I ran over the grass before oval part of track, I decided to let the lapped car pass me without taking too many risks. Guess what, he wasn't lapped... :banghead: I was monitoring tyres and didn't even had time to look on the mini-map.

On the last lap I already accepted that 13th place is best I could get, only to pass spinning Huru-aito on the finish straight, who tried to reach the finish with three flats... I knew he stopped too early last time and so he took big risk trying to do more than 13 laps in FZR. Anyway I finished one place higher than him and thanks to that we finished the season on equal points. Congratulations to Uros for winning the championship in best possible style

Again one of the best races in endu league for me, but it could have been even better if not for the drive-through penalty :banghead: after 3rd pit stop. The race started with heavy traffic and lap times were really slow in the beginning. But it was thanks to this traffic, that I was able to pass Rudi, who was probably going for two stops on r3 tires. Anyway I got through on 3rd lap and then went after Huru-aito, overtaking with him Rumiko when he made mistake on 5th lap. Our next "prey" was Ramla - Huru-aito made the move at the end of lap 10, and then on lap 13 left-front tire exloded in Ramla's car, allowing me to grab 7th position. That's not all - Huru spun on the same lap and I was lucky enough not to be too close to him when it happened. Thanks to that I went through safely to take 6th place. Few laps later I was right behind Tillverkad and soon we both passed MagicFr who was trying go reach the pit lane on two tires only.

After first pit stop on lap 21 I found myself in 8 position and kept it despite making rookie-like error when I forgot where to brake for first turn after leaving pit lane... Thankfully there was big gap and after quick use of reverse and I was driving in right direction That mistake allowed Da Hoe to leave the pits right in front of me, when he made his stop on lap 23. He was on cold tyres, so I was able to put the pressure on him and guess what - I was able to outbrake him at then end of back-straight. He then tried to re-take 7th position on the outside, but failed to do that and settled for 8th place. It was really good fight I think

When the first round of pit stops finished, I was in 4th place and then on lap 27 MacEST PC decided to freeze for good. Third place in div. A - I didn't expect it for sure Of course I knew that some of the guys behind me were on two-stop strategy and sooner or later will get ahead of me, but anyway I was extremely happy. I managed to keep that place untill lap 41, when I made 2nd stop. It was quite long because of the damage here and there, but I only lost three places. On Lap 45 Da Hoe made his 2nd stop an I was 5th, when Rudi appeared right in front of me (he was one lap behind). With more fuel and harder tyres (if I'm not mistaken) he was slower than me, so he let me through when I got very close. Then I made mistake on lap 48 and Huru was able to pass me, but when he and others made their pit stops I was back in 3rd

Rudi was right behind me whole time, so he was little faster than me, but it wasn't big difference and I didn't thought that I should let me through. I was not blocking him or anything like that. It was all going according to plan, when I clipped the wall and went across the track almost in the way of Rudi. I know that it looked like deliberate blocking, but I was just trying to keep then back of the car in straight line while looking in the mirror. My mistake, but anyway I moved out of his way on next lap, as I had damaged suspension. Then I made my last stop, but messed things up on pit entry and bang: drive-through penalty It cost me one, maybe two positions, so it wasn't that bad. Anyway I finished in 7th place and despite penalty was satisfied. To be in 3rd place for quite a long time - I couldn't ask for more

Quote from Jonesy_ :But one thing I like to yack about :P
When we leaved the pits you runned beside me before the pit line ended, and I would´ve taked the inside line there if I had the possibility, just to inform you

In F1 I would be penalized for running over this yellow line, so yes, I probably shouldn't have done that I was just waiting for the end of those cones (or whatever they should be called) and as there wasn't any car approaching I turned left immediately after them. Maybe this should be clarified by Frank - if it's allowed or not.

First off all I'm really sorry Jonesy_ for what happened right after our 2nd pit stops. I took 88% of fuel as usual and was able to exit pits right behind you. Then I tried to overtake you on the inside of the fast right-hander and even though I was driving little slower because of the cold tires, there was still not enough grip and my car was sliding slightly towards your. Then our cars made slight contact and you went off track. I didn't want to say sorry in the middle of the race (no chatting allowed there), and so I'm apologizing now :sorry:

Beside this little incident, it was one of the best races for me in the endu league After very disappointing 2nd race in div. B (lost connection), this time it was div. A again and although there was no way I could compete with front runners, I still enjoyed it very much. Pit stops were perfect and the only other mistake apart from clash with Jonesy_ was going wide at the same fast right-hander few laps earlier (that's where he passed me before pit stop). For two-hours race having made just two mistakes (car not damaged) - I couldn't ask for more. Mouse may not be optimal steering device, but anyway I was very consistent and even made PB 2:43.76, which is not bad I think 8)

As for the finish position (8th), it was of course thanks to Torben running out of fuel on last lap. He was on 2-stop strategy (damn XRR eats less fuel than my FZR ) and I was already counting points for 9th place, when I saw him slowing down on mini-map. So that was little bonus for all the hard work in this race. Now I'm looking forward to racing on SO Long, but those nasty barriers are giving me goose bumps already... :twirl:

Quote from Frankmd :you are allowed to unlap yourself. However, it is not allowed to make it impossible for other drivers to have a fair competition, whether that would be for the first, second or 15th place

Can I assume that the same goes to MrAss, who was not very cooperative when it comes to lapping? I didn't lodge official complaint to you Frankmd, but can you watch div. B replay on lap 10, 16 and 17 looking from my car? I just want to know if he did the right thing there...

Quote from Neokiller :Yes in F1 you can overtake the leader if you were faster, now only coz they are one lap ahead you need to slow down and stay behind them? dont think so...

But overall he was slower than me and I was loosing time - that's a fact. If it wasn't such a long race I would have been probably more agressive. But it was big risk, especially that he was making mistakes and was prepared to fight with me. Why do you think there are blue flags? Just for fun? If you have bad race you feel better when you slow down other drivers? There should be some word in S2 season procedures about blue flags, or nobody will pay attention to them even if they are slower every lap than car trying to lap them.

Ok, here are my thoughts after seeing the replay provided by Huru-aito (thanks mate ). First of all it looks like teamnic drivers disconnected on their own - Rob run out of fuel and MrAss probably didn't want to drive alone, since he followed him shortly afterwards. As for the driver, who was ignoring blue flags, it was MrAss (Chris Minch). He wasn't blocking ostentatiously, but was slower and simply refused to let the leaders through until they were alongside him. On lap 10 he made mistake on the first of those double right-handers after the longest straight and I thought he would let me pass there. He didn't, our cars made contact and I spun. Finally on lap 16 I was able to pass him, only to be re-passed few corners later after some late braking-almost-kamikaze maneuver. Should he do something like that when he is lapped and already cost me so much time? And he isn't inexperienced driver, because he is part of teamnic. In F1 it's simple - after ignoring blue flags three times in a row you get drive-through penalty. Maybe we need something like that in LFS Endu leauge, because BlackMan did something similar in div. A. It's true my mistake in the first race did hurt Rudi dearly, but it was almost the same as with MacEST case yesterday – he almost used the same words to describe it. But ignoring blue flags for very long time and getting in the way of leaders intentionally is simply unacceptable.

I hope that someone recorded replay in div. B, because our race leader, Rob, got disconnected and I think he never returned to the server to remind others to do it. I would have done it myself, but I too got disconnected. Huru-aito?

My 2nd race (div. B) ended quite early, as there were lags (not on my side) even before the race got underway. Both teamnic drivers also lost connection, so I think the server was not in the best condition (ping 200 for most of the time). Apart from that, there were serious (I mean serious) problems with one lapped driver, who doesn't not know what the blue flag means, or he thought that it will be fun, if he will try to race with leaders on equal terms (he was driving FXR, while I FZR). When I tried to pass him for the first time after he made mistake, he simply "shut the door" and my car spun. After that I was trying to be very careful and guess what - when I finally passed him, he braked very late before turn one and dived inside to take his (?) position back. Then I've followed him for few laps, before I made small mistake (I was loosing my patience at that time) and lost 2nd place. Then we both (2nd and 3rd placed drivers) followed him for next few laps, before he finally spun for good and couldn't block us anymore. I hope the replay will show clearly, what he was doing. Apart from that the race was very good, but sadly for me didn't last too long. I'm looking forward to better fortunes in next race

Quote from Frankmd :No wind, we will have some changes next season, but right now we stick with the no wind option.

Is there any decision concerning wind setting in this race? I want to know as quick as possible, so I will have enough time to get myself prepared I hope there will be no wind, but we'll see...

Please, no wind - it's already hard for many drivers to race for two hours with tyre wear and damages. In my view that's big enough difference since last endu season to make races more interesting. We should not rush things and take one step a time. Certainly there are people who could drive 100 laps in changing conditions without any problems, but there are many less experienced (including me).

Imagine race on BLGP with 15-20 people in one division - for GTR's it's rather short track and after about 30 laps there would be lots of lapping, especially that it's more demanding track than Westhill (take first chicane for example). We had few issues with lapping in first race (I'm really sorry Rudi, but due to two crashes already in the same spot there were no blue flags) and with wind on shorter and more technical circuit there will be even more similar situations.

And the last thing - hotlapping during races maybe happened often in S1, but now we have tyre wear combined with very fast cars. Some try to go as fast as possible with short stints, others are trying to save tyres and make it to the finish with less stops. If someone feels he can go for hotlapping in the two hours race - that's good for him. I can't afford that and I'm sure am not the only one Thanks to that we have different strategies and races are not boring even without wind.

Quote from Frankmd :Maybe having a speed limit of 150kmh during the warmup lap could fix some problems. If the lead car slows down in the last corner (to let the rest of the field catch up) the speed difference isnt that big.

Also allowing a restart until the first car has passed the s/f-line might be an option?

That might help indeed, so I'm behind those propositions. GTR's are very fast cars and when something goes wrong it could go wrong big time. Anything that can make it easier for drivers at the start should be implemented
