Quote from MonkOnHotTinRoof :Interesting...
But wouldn't nohup command also do the trick?

That looks so much simpler than my way...

Hmm, another mono question, hehe

How to start LFSLapper and keep it running? I use Putty to log on to the server, but when I have started LFSLapper and closes Putty I also close LFSLapper?

After I got mono to work with adding some lib's I now reuploaded the LFSLapper.exe and now it works, no more assembly error

Thank you so much for the help!

Quote from MonkOnHotTinRoof :XWindows are not needed. From where did you run mono now ? Did you check if mono can be run from everywhere ? Then go to LFSLapper/bin directory and run it: mono ./LFSLapper.exe ../cfg/LFSLapper.cfg.

Yes, now I can run mono from anywhere.

If I type:
LFSLapper/bin$ mono ./LFSLapper.exe ../cfg/LFSLapper.cfg

I get:
cannot open assembly ./LFSLapper.exe

If I only type "mono" I get:
Usage is: mono [options] program [program-options]
Development:
--aot Compiles the assembly to native code
--debug Enable debugging support
--profile[=profiler] Runs in profiling mode with the specified profiler module
--trace[=EXPR] Enable tracing, use --help-trace for details
--help-devel Shows more options available to developers
Runtime:
--config FILE Loads FILE as the Mono config
--verbose, -v Increases the verbosity level
--help, -h Show usage information
--version, -V Show version information
--optimize=OPT Turns on or off a specific optimization
Use --list-opt to get a list of optimizations
--security Turns on the security manager (unsupported, default is off)

ok, I was missing a lib libglib2.0-0 - The GLib library of C routines
thats why it wouldnt start... it was not installed when I installed mono.

But now when I do: mono LFSLapper.exe LFSLapper.cfg I get:
cannot open assembly LFSLapper.exe

Can it be that I dont run xwindow, I run only text mode? Is xwin needed?

./mono: error while loading shared libraries: libgthread-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Hmm... did something go wrong with my installation of mono...?

Quote from MonkOnHotTinRoof :Did you install it as root? I think if you install mono as root, the paths are not modified and you have to do it manually. I always install mono as normal user somewhere into my home directory.
I use same mono installer and Debian distro, so there should be no problem with that.

I installed mono as LFSHost user. Even if I place myself in the /mono-1.1.15/bin dir and run mono from there with the path to LFSLapper, I get the
mono: command not found

I hate being a noob... hehe. Thank you all for your help

Edit:
I installed it again as another user, in home/user/mono dir.. same thing.

Should I get a respons from mono when I just type "mono". All I get is "mono: command not found".

Is it possible to run both mono and wine at the same time or can that couse a conflict...?

I downloaded and installled mono Linux Installer for x86 (All distributions)
from http://www.mono-project.com/Downloads

but I get "command not found" when trying "mono LFSLapper.exe LFSLapper.cfg"

I use Debian and Im not sure that mono release works with Debian?

I have seached but have not found any other installers that are for Debian...

If anyone that also uses Debian know if that is the mono to go with, that would be helpfull.

Thanks, yea I can connect on my local network, have not tried to connect from an "outside" computer. I would guess its not showing up on the hostlist, as the stats to LFSWorld is not working?
My server dont show on Serverlist or LFSWorld?

I reinstalled my servers os, before that my server send information to LFSworld so stats got updated and all, but now when I reinstalled it nothing happens on LFSWorld.

Yes

When I upload your file with binary I get results!

But how do I rebuild me LFSLapper with this.BinaryMode = false;?

And how do I change the layout of the resultspage?

We are getting closer, hehe

edit: I just looked at the how-to-build.txt I will try that.

But the layout thing?

Also... is there a way to edit the layout of the result page?

Do I need a special CGI editor so I dont mess up the code?

Thanks

You can use a Gateway to run muliple InSim modules, I use RaceManager that has a few nice modules built in and lets you run others aswell.

http://silk.lfsnal.org/RaceManager.html

Just config LFSLapper to use the gateway port and password and you can run most InSim apps simultaniusly.

@Alan_Bernardo
No you dont need to make thise files, they will be created when the first driver makes his first lap. This error you get is not the reson lfslapper dont start.

The problem I would guess is with InSim, somehow the port you are using for InSim is already used. When I config my LFS server with /insim 29999 in the config I get the same as you, the window closes without any errors. So I removed that from config and manualy start InSim from the chat in my driversseat with /insim 29999. Thats how I got it to work, dont know why the config dont work. GL

Quote from MonkOnHotTinRoof :Are you trying to run more InSim applications at the same time ? It won't work (at least not without gateway).

Try running LFSLapper without other InSim applications at first. You can change insim port to some other number, if 29999 is already used (don't forget to change lfslapper.cfg Port line).

No I dont run any other InSim apps and I have tried change to other port numbers but same thing.

I cant get LFSLapper to work
I get the same as ekze posted in his screenshot. It is missing the "InSimInit : port 0, Product : DEMO Ver.0.5Q" stuff...

Quote from ekze :Yes, i am using shortcut method. I start LFSLapper and it stays opened, but nothing happens...
http://liveforspeed.com.ru/images/lapper.jpg

Quote from MonkOnHotTinRoof :
When LFSLapper is started, you should get in LFS console following message:
InSimInit : port 0
Product : DEMO Ver.0.5Q

I use DediLink to start my server, with InSim local UDP port 29999 and InSim port 7777 (default) and all looks fine on the LFS server screen with InSim listening on 29999.

If I start my server without DediLink and then type /insim 29999 I get "InSim::Initialise : bind failed" Dont know why... and I get same when I try to start InSim from a LFS client via talk.
I have /insim 29999 in config.

I run the LFSLapper on the same machine as the LFS server.

If I try add debug it makes no differens.

Please, any help would be very nice, I realy like LFSLapper and want it on my server
