LFSWorld Username: Virtual-R I would like to run for the position of nation's manager: no Skills: Id like to be a Driver for this series, not sure if I could help out with anything else. If you need any website stuff done I could help out with that lol
Everyone will crash at some point, some more than others of course :P
The reason I am suggesting this is there are some tracks where if you clip the grass and loose control you can go flying up a unprotected hill and launch into the air. Some times landing back on the track and taking out other cars, it would be good to have some kind of barrier which could be used to actually stop the cars from being able to go up that hill if they loose control.
I'm by no means saying that barriers should be built into the game around those unprotected areas, just some objects added or modified so we can block them safely if needed.
In league events reducing the amount of crashes or helping to reduce further accidents from coming out of them can be important. Auto X editor isn't just used for rally cross, it can be a useful tool for normal road racing as well.
I have 2 suggestions that I would really like to see introduced into the Auto X Editor. First is to allow the default track side objects such as tyres and barriers to be moved or deleted.
Second is to improve the barriers so that if a car hits them it acts like a actual wall or solid barrier, instead of launching the car backwards like a sling shot or sending the car on its way to the moon. Some similar improvements to the tyre stacks and hay bails would also be a good option.
These objects don't really slow or stop the car most of the time, they just send the car flying through the air or backwards into other cars on the track which causes more problems than if they weren't used in the first place.
I second this request, the old way allowing the car to be reset after rolling but still carrying the damage needs to be brought back in so it can be activated on the server side. In long endurance races the old reset can be a good option to give people a 2nd chance if they happen to roll without giving them any advantages other than being turned back onto their wheels.
We have recently had to limit it to no resets however because resetting the car back onto its wheels with no damage and new tyres basically defeats the purpose of pit stops, gives people way too much of a advantage by using it and makes things too unrealistic.
The race order doesn't appear for me until I cross the finish line after a race has ended, or when i cross a sector split for qualifying where it is only displayed for about 5 seconds. Only on W17 did the qualifying positions list stay on constantly. After W26 it wasn't a constant thing.
As for the actual connections list, I cant see a need to have that list showing constantly while racing. If you vote for a restart do you need to see how many people have voted the entire time afterwards? It wont make the restart happen any sooner, could just keep racing and when the restart happens it happens.
So FIA have basically forced Michelin out of Formula One, now it seems they're doing the same thing to then in WRC. Someone at Michelin must have pissed off Mr Mosley quite alot lol.
They may hold the rims surface heat higher (from brake heat) keeping tyre pressures more stable (heat from the rim increasing air temperature inside, would reduce the focus on only heating the tyre surface to raise the air temperature / pressure inside).
Also could help hold the brakes temperatures at a suitable level so they don't cool down too much on long straights.
I'd imagine there is also an effect on aero not dragging air at the back of the rims dished section.
Stunts on 386 was what got me started, I loved building my own tracks and doing jumps or sliding round corners in lambos and ferraris lol. For its time it was a really great game.
After that it was GP2 which I played for a long time, then after that Sports Car GT.
I kinda stopped playing racing games few years ago, late last year when my friend showed me LFS though I had to buy it, along with a new wheel (The old Thrustmaster T2 was a bit too outdated lol).
I'm not a fan of nascar racing, however I did find it funny that some of the events are sponsored by Pharmaceutical companys like nicorette, ban the tobacco sponsorship but let the pharmaceutical companys selling nicotine sponsor them lol. Whats next the PROZAC 500
I've been playing a fair bit of Test Drive Unlimited recently, it's very arcade like in the cars handling, but its a fun game to play. Its kinda like the need for speed games but without the full on ricer / neons crap which is what turned me off nfs games along time ago.
Car handling physics are pathetic, but its fun to race around a massive island with 700km or so of open roads and traffic
What a complete moron, he shouldn't even be allowed near the wheel of a car if that's how he drives, going to probably the most difficult racetrack in the world, when its wet and first corner decides to nail it. Anyone with even half a brain would realise you don't do that. If he doesn't have the common sense to realise you cant set the lap record on the first corner he deserved to crash, hopefully his car is a write off and he's scared away from race tracks for life. Will save him from causing a major accident and possibly hurting someone else in the future.
I remember the top gear episode when Jeremy Clarkson went to Nordschleife, everyone knows he's a pretty hopeless driver who thinks he can drive like a pro but even he managed to get around without crashing, and it was wet too.
*edit* btw how did this thread get turned from a bmw driving tool at Nordschleife into a world automotive trade debate? lol
Each time it happened, I pitted from either the first or last pit box. I figured out that those pit boxes were most likely to cause the problem, so during the race I used the middle pit boxes.
Not sure if this is meant to happen, however whenever I get suspension damage on this track, I go into the pits to have it fixed and some of the time the damage isn't totally fixed. Either the damage bar will show fine or will still show a tiny bit of damage to a control arm or something. But then I look at the wheels camber and notice its still really out of place, to the point where I still cant take corners. When I pit again after this all the damage is then fixed and the car is back to normal.
I've only been racing with the FO8 at this track atm and its happening alot, not sure if its a car or track problem or the combo of both.
