Looks good. So how do you change tire graphics in the game? *Not at my home computer right now.

Ok thanks. I'll play around with that. Yes I have it installed.

Is there a problem with the rumble strip FF in this game, because I get it with some and not with others, especially high speed. And sometimes I can see the cockpit vibrate up and down and I get nothing in FF. ??

Quote from mrodgers :you can also download the WR replay runs and watch/study those to learn a better line and braking points.

Where are the WR replays?

Edit. Found them at LFSWorld.

Hey deggis, where do you find these settings:

"Spring Effect Strength" to 0%
"Damper Effect Strength" to 0%
And then check "Enable Centering Spring in Force Feedback Games" but set the slider at 0%

in the game?

I have the momo racing wheel too and sometimes the FF cuts in and out on some rumble strips. Weird.

Ya, it would be nice for it to be like GPL.
Where can I see my hot lap times?

Ok, stupid question. Looked all through the game, text files in the game folders . . . where can I see my times? Probably just overlooked the obvious.

Does the game keep track of online times as well. Had a PB online yesterday and wanted to see where it kept the record of it.

Ok, can we put the age old sim vs arcade debate aside?

Tried online today a couple of times. Good fun, but I need some help. I'm more of an offline racer. Tried online a few times but was always put off by the amount of time required to get going with everyone, and then someone would make a mistake and ruin it, etc.

I want to get going online with LFS as it seems to be much better. My problems were understanding what servers were running qualifying and who were currently racing, or about to race. Joined a couple in progress and got right out again. Joined another but everyone was qualifying forever and didn't have the patience to stay.

What do the VSQMP letters mean under info?
What is S or T under the V column?

Also, where's this "LFS S2 Manual:hosting guide for beginners" that I saw on page 8 of the manual? There's no actual link in the manual. I need some tips on how everything works once you're online.
F1 hotlapping much better than F1C

I have about 10,000 laps under my belt with EA's F1C, F12001, F12000, etc. and I just picked up LFS last week. I've raced every F1 mod for F1C and love CTDP and RH . . . but now that the patch and the BMW is out I just can't get enough. The driving is superb! TC is great. Soooo much better than F1C. My only complaint is the AI, so I'll probably still turn a few laps in F1C for the "race" experience.

But hotlapping in the BMW is fantastic. I just can't get away from the thing when I'm driving. I keep thinking, "Just one more lap. I know I can do better". Rarely felt that way with F1C.

Thanks for the great work LFS.

Ok a lot of this advice is starting to help. I'm going through some of the more problem corners in higher gears so that's helping. I have another problem though . . . I can't stop doing laps to try and improve my time. This game is going to take too much of my time. What should I do?

Quote from Rappa Z :never put the pedal to the metal. I still don't. Don't slam the brakes. On westhill(good fo8 test track) you only brake a few times, making it easy to learn. I'd start with a fox.

I still drive a lot in RBR and in that sim your always 25-50% throttle, so I know how to take it easy, but in this sim if I hit anything more than 20% throttle in first gear the wheels spin. That just can't be realistic. I know these cars have power, but that's too sensitive.

I'll stick to the FOX for now. Drives great and I'm loving the physics.

Ok, I just found this thread:

http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=5534

so stuff in there may help a bit.

But my question is . . . is this right? Never driven a formula car, but watched tons of races and it doesn't look like throttle contol is this sensitive for them?
Formula rear end spin

I've gone through several posts here . . . downloaded and installed the "easy" setups . . . but nothing seems to work. This can't be realistic. The throttle is super sensitive and brakes are just wipping me around every corner. I turned down the acceleration/brake sensitivity in the options panel, and that helped, but I can barely make it through a lap.

Sorry, but there's something wrong here. I've played every sim out there, GPL, GTL, GTR, F1C, RBR, etc. and none of those are as sensitive as this.

Am I just missing something here, or is this just wrong?

Sure hope there's some improvement in the patch. And hope the BMW won't drive like the formula cars. The thing is, I can handle the two smaller single seaters, just not the formula.
