The CRT that I used was an Eizo. I destroyed 2 in about 4 months now.
Don't know why, the screen just starts flashing and I hear little bangs or flashes. Don't really know how to call the sound.

I'm gonna try some games on a friends widescreen tft and see what I think of it.

Well, my dad picked 3 screens from the e-net shop he can buy from:

Acer H233HAbmid
: http://www.execute.be/ficheprod_en.asp?idprod=1667055
HP 2159m: http://www.shopping.hp.com/pro ... orefronts/FV585AA%2523ABA
HP 2229H: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc ... 5012-3251357-3948356.html

Important for me is that I can connect 2 pc's on it, so it needs 2 input channels.

Thnx for the website on widescreengaming btw!
replacing the old CRT monitor

Hi,
My CRT 21" monitor died on me yesterday so I'm looking to replace it by a nice flatscreen to save some energy. (that beast was getting 150Watts when it was on)

Problem is, I can't find any flatscreen that isn't widescreen and I'm scared that games will look awefull on them.

So my question is: will LFS and other games be stretched out on widescreens? Or does LFS just cuts off the top and the bottom of the screen? Or how is a normal resolution fit into a widescreen resolution?

Is it possible to position a fullscreen window manual? Like give it position in the middle of the widescreen and make it less wide than widescreen? Or is this totaly unnecessairy?

Well some bad (maybe good for others) news but Team Spark0 wont be there. The team has been pretty inactive the last weeks and this weekend (when the race is) half of the team isn't at home.
Maybe fot the Kyoto 500 we'll be present

Good luck with the race!

Quote from koolby :For entering with a team:
Team Name:
Spark0 Racing Team (SRTx)
LFS Usernames: super-sonic, koolby, (more might follow)
Race Names: SRTx Sonic, SRTx Koolby
Number: 79

There might be other drivers added.

We decided to use 3 drivers, please add

LFS Usernames: Need more Weed
Race Names: SRTx Exelero

to our driver list

I don't really see what you mean
If you enter as a team, there's only 1 car that crosses the finish, so only 1 time points are scored.

I'm doubting to take that as an insult
What if we just want to test how strong our team is? Or whatever reason you can come up with?
I don't see why you had to say that, if people want to have driver switches then let them but don't start saying they shouldn't compeet in this event (or in other words : are too weak or just plain stupid).

Quote from lizardfolk :I believe Halford Racing also has entered. With this option there might be others.

Individual drivers are open as well. There's no absolute need to be in a team

Yes I know but wait, lemme see if I understand you.
You mean that if there are several drivers from a team who are not signed in as a team (different numbers). You count their points and devide them by the number of players.

What I mean is, can't they just be seen as individual drivers?
koolby

Why would this be needed?
As long as they don't sign up as a team, we can see them as individual drivers no?

I think qualify should be normal, or at least I think the qualify should be normal, so that we don't have to go to the server setup and the admin tells us when to join. I really don't like this system mainly that is because I see no one on the grid when the race is started (It's some problem with my internet, another pc doesn't help...).

got no lue at all where to find this "onlysha" nor where to find "mirror Transp" and even less for "raymir"

Could anyone show me? like on a screenshot or something?

Quote from Bogey Jammer :
Create a reflective floor

To get a reflective ground is easy:
  • Select the big circle that represents the ground in the 3D view
  • Press F5 to enter the material menu
  • depress "OnlySha" small button in the "Shaders" menu (need to expand it to see it)
  • Enter the "Mirror Transp" tab and press "Ray Mirror" button
  • Set a 0.2-0.3 value in the "RayMir" input. (this is the reflexion amount setting)
  • Press F12 and enjoy
Note that the circle will be no longer transparent in the renders.
