Decided to log in, and found a long list of PM's asking, demanding, and pleading for my tyres. Haha, I never thought they'd be so popular!
Here is my LOGOALPHA.dds and my TYRE.dds files. These include some other authors great work as well (from memory) to include the manufacturers logo in high resolution. My tyres are in there as well and will show up in the sim when you replace your files in the data\dds dir.
EDIT.......... The upload file function on the forum is not working. I'll try again tomorrow!
I only change soundfiles, textures and car models... I now know that it is illegal (hopefully not criminally, lol) to change the latter, but still you have to admit there are some good ones out there, and its not doing anyone any harm to use them.
This is my first go at modifying textures for Live For Speed and I thought I would start with an area that appears to be a little neglected - That is the sidewall of the tyres... Not that there isn't any but that there isn't enough!
I'm currently working on a pack based on the brilliant HIRES adaption of the original sidewalls by justinziarko - I hope this is ok and I will not release until I've replaced all of his work if this is frowned upon (but why re-invent the wheel eh)?
So far I have made three sidewalls (two completely original and one based off the generic Potenza for the Formula 1 slick). I wasn't sure if anyone had attempted to recreate a regular road tyre sidewall with only embossed rubber markings so this is what I've done with the Azenis.
*EDIT*I've finished the tread for the Azenis 615 now. Pic below:
*completed*
- BRIDGESTONE POTENZA F1 SLICK (inc. green stripe)
- FALKEN AZENIS by Rainey (100% original content)
- FALKEN GENERIC by Rainey (100% original content)
Uh I didn't... the replays are choppy at 125ms in the game? I have been wondering how the silky smooth videos are made, if you can enlighten me that would be fantastic.
Haha, yeah I really wanted to showcase some physics with the 4wd car so the drifts aren't ridiculously huge, i just tightened up the rear suspension and bumped up the tire pressure so she got a bit tail happy.
The driving was intentionally shabby (ie. who really stacks it that big over the chicane in Fern Bay anyway? ).
Hey I'm kinda interested. Was in this server earlier today racing some good guys. I can't ever guarantee that I will be avaliable from week to week though, does this matter?
