it seem it worked! i have set the FFR to "close" (disabled) for steamVR settings in the pitool
at first launch that stupid annoying steamvr dashboard got in the way i couldn't get rid of it, it was interfering. i had to close and quit everything, then i launched again in the following order:
1) launch "steamVR" from pitool with the recommended settings
2) launch LFS.exe
3) enable "3d" and click OpenVR
so far i'm impressed by the silky smooth FPS and especially seeing the 3d geometry of your own car reflecting in the mirrors!
this simply doesn't exist in no other "popular car sims" that are out there for pc.
this is what i wish was there:
ability to bind the "seat forward/aft, up and down" positions to buttons on hardware controllers as well as "recenter VR" to a button on hwardware. it would be just perfect
now that i have solved this, im buying Rockingham.
@Kingoffice what version of steamvr you are using? in no where mine is looking even close like to yours (even with the menu items in french)
i have installed the patch U18, but i have no luck to run LFS in VR at all. When steamvr launches, LFS crashes instantly when i click on 3D / OpenVR, and i'm in window mode running 1920x1080
lol , from what i see, the one that was shown in the screenshots, is a 2008-2009 Sirocco model ..
by the time it will be introduced to LFS, it will be already outdated and replaced by a newer model from Volkswagen, and we will have to wait for another 4-5 years of physics and tires "adjustment" to see some screenies of it at first
after all, with everything that is available, it could be much more easier to make an accurate model of some older car .. like Audi QUATTRO from the end of the 80's or some Lancia Delta
OK.. after some patience and some EXTENSIVE search, finally i have finally found what i was looking for. (thanks google) and it was well HIDDEN...
I'm PLEASED to enjoy again driving the FXO GTR car wearing knobbly tyres and having dirt drifting rally style fun on the Blackwood rally cross track!
and yes, the old times of the patch U "WRC" fun is BACK .. and yes; IT WORKS on patch Z too and ... it Is GREAT! :headbang:
i have noticed in some other threads, that anything saying about this "thing" was blacklisted by forum moderators for certainly a valid reason, so i won't say anything more as of where i have found it. so i just want to express the freedom to enjoy a product the way i like and for which i have paid for ...
I know how far on the bottom list this feature is and how the developpers are busy on making other more important stuff, but adding just a tiny little bit of "emitters" to put some fire, sparkles, smoke and maybe some little debris would change the game's image A LOT i doubt this would have a negative impact over fps, we are in 2008 and most of regular computers would easily afford that.
anyways, this was just my fart in the desert of the day. and i still keep enjoying playing LFS every day.
I want to give you a pleasure to spill valid arguments to have a car racer game fan friend to be converted and convinced to get into LFS:
Actually, he likes NFS, Toca, TDU and all that bs for brainless kids.. Knowingly that todays selling factor for a car racing game is maybe based on 95% of its visual aspect (graphics), so thats why we see all the wusses like Electronic Arts and many other big game publishers producing "nice looking" car games spending most of their budget into buying licenses from car makers and releasing the games with extreme poor simulation performance etc.. (latest example i tried is: TDU)
As for LFS concerns, i don't know what their deal was to include the BMW (hopefully, it was a courtesy free agreement from BMW which is actually a good example for the others)..
soo, how better is LFS compared to (if it ever can be compared) to NFS, TOCA, RF, TDU etc .??
why not to just implement some additional options -of a reasonable level to mod or tune up the visual aspect of the car in order to add a slightly personal touch to it ? I believe this is not a priority for the developers at the moment. But seeing something to design / import yourself some parts like rims, windspoilers and some other minor tunning stuff would be a good idea.
uhmm.. not sure if we need to tweak the engine specs to get that power, because in earlier LFS version with the Keg's Slickmod it was just fine , at least for me..
just make the kobbly/hybrid tyres
can we have any thoughts from the gods .. ermmm devs! on this idea?
as of today, there ain't no decent WRC cars in LFS.
personally; the what i'm missing is to have that damn FXO GTR to wear knobbly / offroad tyres. only another variation of that car should be added for the RALLYCROSS thing.. DOH
