Overclocking is fun, but it won't really get you any performance increase unless you buy an awesome CPU cooler. but If you are going to do that you may as well just buy a better CPU which will be much faster!

Quote from E.Reiljans :The X2 in the name means it's a dual-GPU card, it still needs only one PCIe slot on the motherboard.

oooooh, fail on my behalf lol. cheers guys.

Quote from Omar1 :Hi guys, im building a kinda budget pc was wondering what you guys think of the specs:

Just won the motherboard, Processor and 2GB ram on Ebay for £51! Bargin!

-Intel DG31PR Motherboard
-Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 Processor @ 2.80GHZ (might overclock)
-3 or 4GB RAM
-ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2

Will be playing games like GTA IV, LFS, MW2, MW3, and other good stuff.

Thanks

Hang on, google images seems to indicate that that motherboard only has 1 PCIe slot, so you can only install 1 graphics card.

Quote from Matrixi :After a month long wait.. graphics cards finally arrived. Although not the EVGA cards I originally ordered (hence the backplates) as they cancelled my order due to shortage of kepler chips from Nvidia.

Changed the fan setup inside the case slightly aswell, Noctua cream/brown wasn't going well with the theme. Performance wise, the build is now complete.

A shame to get rid of the Noctua fan, they are such good fans.

Have you heard of the butt kicker? it's the same as that, just my cheap DIY verson. It basically shakes my chair when i loose traction etc.

Quote from ACCAkut :thats quite a lot of wood you use there, hope its a rather hard type, else everything can become wobbly after some usage. For the brake pedal, is there no spring at all? How much travel does that pedal have?

Hey, Yeah the wood is mostly MDF. It hasn't failed me yet

The brake pedal does have 2 spings then it hits some rubber feet. It seems to have a similar amount of travel to my real car.

Hey Guys,

Here are some pics of my recently made bass shakers.
Although the 4" one is a higher power speaker the bigger. 6"? one actually works better. the 4" one is too loud, probably because I have rubber washers on all sides, but if I don't use rubber washers, it doesn't vibrate enough.

My diy pedals

Hey Guys,

I thought I'd post my homemade pedals for people to see.
As with most of my projects there was a bit of trial and error involved. For the accelerator pot i have a lever system set up, but for the clutch i have attached the pot to the bolt at the base of the pedal. Both seem to work fine.
For the brake, initially I had a pot, but then decided to go for a load cell, and I'm so glad I did. So good!
The controller is a fancy Leo Bodnar BU0836-LC.
If anyone would like any more pictures or would like to know more about specific things please ask.

Quote from cargame.nl :Vista.. Wasnt that the ultra slow, crappy non functional operating system from a decade ago?

Yes it was.

Yeah, I bought a PC with vista many years ago, I wiped it and put windows XP on it, so much better!

There is an awesome program which i discovered recently called DXTweak. if there are any calibrations issues, you will be able to sort them out with that for sure. It's a bit of a power users tool, but if you can get your head around it, it's so useful.
