6) result and timings
Here's how it works:
Each run within a heat can have a minimum of 3, maximum of 5 drivers. The idea is to do as many as possible in each run.
Heat 1 gridding is based on a random seed, and divided into the runs to put as close to a full 5 cars as possible, and keeping a reasonable balance for the shorter ones.
Heat 2 is based on Heat 1 results. Your total race time is taken.
Heat 3 is based on the total of your Heat 1 and Heat 2.
The finals are based on the best two of three heats for you.
Points are awarded based on the rank in the heat, the points are used for the gridding. DNF, DSQ, DNS all get higher nuumbers, and run with the slower cars in Heats 2 and 3, and have to race in the C final.
If you are tied on points after Heat 2 or 3, the tiebreakers are this:
First, best rank in a heat. Can't break that? Fastest time in a heat.
All the qualifying Heats will be timed and the fastest driver in each Heat will be awarded 1 point, the second fastest 2 points, and so on.
Those drivers who did not complete the Heat will be credited with 80 points; those drivers who did not start the Heat will be credited with 90 points; those drivers who were excluded from the Heat will be credited with 95 points.
Only those drivers having completed two Heats and having been credited with at least two times will be admitted to the Finals.
In each qualifying heat, one of the laps must be the Joker Lap. Those drivers who do not take this Joker Lap will receive a time penalty of 30 seconds.
At the exit of the Joker lap, the cars on the main track have priority.
A reminder - the heats are essentially qualifying - Heat 1 is a random grid, Heat 2 is based off of Heat 1 times, Heat 3 is based off of the combined times of 1+2, and the grid for the finals is based off of your best two heat times. YOUR race time is what counts - your finishing position of all drivers in that heat is used as a tiebreaker in the event of equal times, or points.
7) grid combination
If a heat has 20 drivers, it’s get split into 5/5/5/5, if it has 19 drivers, it’s split into 5/5/5/4, for 18 it’s 5/5/4/4, 17 it’s 5/5/4/3, 16 it’s 5/5/3/3, from 15 it’s 5/5/5, we try to keep as many 5 car heats as possible.
8) Championship points
Only drivers qualified as the 16 best will score championship points. If a driver qualified for scoring championship points is excluded by the Stewards, the Stewards shall decide if the next competitor can be moved up in the classification.
Points will be awarded at each Event according to the following scale: 1st place: 20 points, 2nd: 17, 3rd: 15, 4th: 13, 5th: 12, 6th: 11, and so on down to 16th: 1 point.
