This is getting unbelievably out of hand. It seems there's a trend where slagging off Redline is 'cool' or something.

The Redline guys don't have to justify anything. You guys are wasting your breath trying to do so. I've raced on the server many times before all this fuss kicked up and still do. To be honest I've never read the rules, I just race and act sensibly and seems to have served me well. I've never had any problems. I will continue racing there until I am unjustly banned/kicked as I inevitably will be according to many people in this thread. After which I will move to another server and continue racing there without making another useless whining thread like this.

I think it's perfectly fine to ban/kick someone for having an attitude problem. It doesn't cost you anything to be civil.

As for thinking your server will get a bad name, the ones that whine about being banned are noobs (not the stupidly fast LFS team the other one) that don't belong there. Anyone that listens to them and believes blindly without verifying for themselves is also a noob that doesn't belong there. So you're not losing out.

I say just don't respond to threads like these and the whiners will just wear themselves out.
I think this thread does need locking, both sides involved again have posted their opinions and complaints...and it seems again it has been a case of misunderstanding, and then people jumping at the chance to put a boot in.
my "attitude" is the attitude you seem to be giving me; ei getting into my personal life asking if im on medication, implying i have no life, and the list can go on
my 2nd post clarifies that i am indeed talking about the thread starter (its not so apparent in the first one, but i assure you thats what i was looking at)

yes i am sorry, but not entirely
for one, i have not spoken complete rubbish, if you actually take the time and consider what i have said, you will understand the point that im getting at. LFS is a worldwide based game allowing anyone from anywhere to play the game. Say some man from China joined the server, how would they understand the rules? also, the limitation of the rules thing is only hard fact, it would be helpful to say that the command only works while in a car; i also would have to suggest that rather than having a command where one can choose to look or not look at the rules, rather have them at the beginning; either in the joining server screen, or it states them right after you join the server therefore you HAVE to see the rules

and just a little tidbit, rules are rules, they will always be exploited no matter what.. its just a fact of life, everyone has different views so you can't exactly do much; although i may have said some things that point towards the negative side, they aren't meant to be in any way shape or form, but rather a form of criticism only to "help" the RR server.. if you get my drift

(as for a reason why you've never seen me or have ever joined the server are because of the following: the server i can say is usually fulll 24/7 which is something to be proud of, also because my computer cant handle a full server like that (or atleast to the point where i wouldn't be able to enjoy myself) and finally because i usually dont race the cars you run)
Why not help Redline out and translate the rules into every single possible language then post it up here for them to use. That way when you type !rules you will get an endless list appear across the screen.

Despite the fact that by 2010 almost 50% of the worlds population will speak english, so its of course the logical language to use...and its the first language used in international motorsport, at most top levels you are required to speak it.
hear hear, thanks Bobby, there are no threads of support for Redline in this forum, telling the truth about what it's like to race on and why it's always full, only these threads that try and bash it, so your words are warmly received by the administrators. Same goes to Jakg and Quicksilver, who have also posted what they have seen happen on my server, I really appreciate it guys

You said it so well Bobby, if you use common sense, there will never be any reason to get kicked from Redline, we welcome all clean and respectful racers, the ones with no point to prove and no attitude, the ones that say 'sorry' if they hit another car and then get back on the track and race.

That is what Redline Racing is all about, people that don't fall in to that catagory, can expect to be banned, wreckers need not apply.

This thread, like the other 2 Redline threads, have reached their conclusion, anyone wishing to contact redline racing can do so by emailing [email protected]

If you feel you were banned in error, or that you were treated unfairly by an administrator and you didn't break any rules, then please drop us an email with a replay of the incident, and we will do our best to get you back on the track with the minimum of delay, we are only human, work with us here people, we run this server for YOUR benefit, NOT ours.

Respect to all clean racers.

** PLEASE LOCK THIS THREAD **
i understand that you can't just put it up on a game like that (although you could have a translation thing so instead of '!rules' it would be like '!rules spanish' or whatever language (obviously i cant help seeing i barely know spanish as it is seeing i can really only conjugate verbs but.. still have no idea what they mean lol) but thats besides the point, the point is, is that theres no outside source to view the rules, it has to be viewed ingame, limiting how much it can say, what it can say and soforth

i personally ignore those insim things that shoot out 10 lines at once at you just because its annyoing (thats me personally)
XC stop clutching at straws and just let it be, you already said you made a mistake and said sorry, leave it at that.
I'm openly stating that I've never read the rules on the redline server. But I'll have a go at guessing what they are,

1) If you're blueflagged get out of the way at the next safe opportunity
2) Maintain a reasonable degree of control over your vehicle and dont slam into other cars at turn 1.
3) Allow space to cars with significant overlap in corners
4) Don't weave about trying to block an overtaking car.
5) If you've spun out get off the track onto the grass(unless theres a stream of cars right behind you, in that case stay put)
6) When rejoining after a crash or from the pits dont just jump out blindly. Make sure there is a suitable gap for you to merge in to.
7) Don't crash into anyone intentionally at any time.
8) Don't use abusive language.

Have I missed anything? All common sense really, you shouldn't have to be told to race like this. If you do break any of these rules and cause an accident I'm sure an apology would fix it.

I can't deny that I'm completely fed up with these perpetual complaints about server admins cropping up on the forums. For all the posts made on both "sides", and those posting reasonable comments somewhere in the middle, I'm absolutely sure there are a multitude of others who are rolling their eyes at "the threads that will not die".

It's been said many times before, but I'll reiterate it: If you don't like the treatment you get on a server, leave it and choose another.

What hasn't been said too often, but really needs saying, is that if you are admining an LFS server in such a way that it detrimentally affects the day to day pleasantness of the LFS forum, then there IS a problem and it really needs addressing, because it's negatively affecting a LOT more people than just the people who join and/or get banned from that server.

The LFS forum is NOT supposed to be a battleground for grudges, nor is it supposed to be an exhibition of power-wielding, and yet it is being used as one. I DON'T think that that is okay. I think it's REALLY wrong. Who is responsible? BOTH sides. Server admins included.

Anyone who wants to pay for a server can do so. They can then go ahead and admin it in whichever way they want, but if you're part of the LFS community and you profess to support the community, you need to know that CAUSING THIS type of thread to appear incessantly is of NO benefit to the community at all. Quite the opposite.

Now it's time for this thread to close.
