Once again we had a race which proved that RTFR is running a high variability of cars - this week we run a high difficulty car, representing F1 from mid-to-late 60ies. That's an era, where engine powers were growing, car sizes and weights shrinking, but grip levels - not keeping up with other advances. This, coupled with bumpy and twisty South City, created probably biggest challenge of the year, but still we had 25 brave drivers ready to take it in qualifying, one less standing on the grid. The race caught up plenty of high tier drivers in incidents as without the real life dangers known when racing such cars, some were too brave and got way too close to each other... Atrition rate was somewhat better than the one in this car's original time - only 1/3 of starters retired.
Current standings leader A.Valta seems was able to adapt to this car best - he was fastest in practice,2nd fastest in qualifying and after using polesitter's mistake to take lead,he led 16 laps on his runaway drive to victory lane. The finn scored his 8th RTFR race win,9th fastest lap of the race (3rd this season) and 24th top5 finish. Gábor was fastest in qualifying for the 3rd time this season and 32nd overall (still 2nd most),but could not keep the pace unter pressure, which ended with a lead losing mistake,so he had to settle for 2nd place finish, scoring his 66th top5 finish. 3rd in finish with already half a minute gap was Unite, who scored his 85th top5 finish (still all time 3rd most),followed by Sean in 4th position, who scored his 5th top5 finish in his 10th total finish. Top5 was closed by driver, who had only his 2nd attendance in RTFR - Shoulda improved his previous result by 8 positions.

Next week the server is given to other series - RandomCar 2024 Series round 9 is to be held in Rockingham, which will set up standings for season finale in october. In 2 weeks RTFR will return with one of the slick tyre cars - again some hints about combo can be seen in broadcast, but full info will be posted in weekend before. And there are also some news about next RTFR XL now - the combo for next race has been submitted by winner of previous race. It will be the 4th visit of the year in Aston, where on GP reversed configuration we will race the car well known from Retro Cup - Cammera JGT. This combo will be set up in RTFR server shortly for laptime testing. Another activity from RGE this week - this sunday the 10th season of V8 Racing League will be started in Kyoto! Make sure you don't miss a chance to join the action and chances to become the new VERL champion - full information and signups in VERL forum section.
