AWS 2025 - Round 2
All-wheel-drive Winter Series 2025
Round 2

Sunday, 5th January
17:30 UTC / 18:30 CET / 19:30 EET

2 weeks after the slowest Blackwood rallycross race,AWS racers will tackle South City's streets with the most powerful car in this league's history, and that without the assistance of grippy slick tyres or high aerodynamic downforce. That's because the Adda AR-Eight is a street legal car with proper equipement, however the modern car has it's modern features like ABS and paddle shifter controlled gearbox. This surely will be a race of focus - the car reaches high speeds quickly and does not leave much room for errors,so small mistakes can end up with damaged car and lengthy repairs in pitstop.

10 drivers started the season in round 1,one of them was also the defending champion who wasn't performing at his standards yet. With 5 more rounds ahead, nothing is decided,so even a fresh entry to series can still mix into battle for all the awards and put his name in the racwinners list below or even add another year to name already in the list.

Please note the different starting time of the round (1 hour earlier) compared to round 1!

Patience - that was the key trait for this round,as the most powerful car ever in the league run in such closed environment surely posed plenty of dangers each lap - even the slightest mistake could result in damage that significantly influences car handling, some had to learn this the hard way, while one driver gave up before reaching 1/3 of the race distance. 11 quite expensive cars were standing on grid waiting for green lights - surely race to go into AWS history in some different way.

For 2nd time in row the best 2 drivers in qualifying were the Race Green Autosports teammates Dzidoris and Falcon - and both were again involved into fight for race win with difference from previous round as this time both led their share of laps. Winner of opening round led the first 14 laps before making a mistake that caused loss of race lead, however the lithuanian managed to pull himself together and erased gap to leader, using his opponent's mistake with 2 laps to go to return into lead, crossing the finish line first again to celebrate his 10th AWS race win, while his 10th pole position sets him in the tied leading position in all time pole positions count. The race was simply 2 laps too long for the canadian driver to score his 1st AWS race win,so he had to settle once again for 2nd place finish, but at least he was able to set the fastest lap of the race, earning an important bonus point. Also there are no changes in 3rd position in results - just like in round 1,Rony started from 4th position and finished 3rd,this time making a position on his own without other driver's network failure.

Dzidoris gained another 2 points lead over his teammate Falcon and now is 6 points ahead in the championship table,no changes in 3rd position either - Rony is still in this position, currently 11 points behind leader.

This round is not counted towards any minor award standings, however the Rookie of the Year competition has been activated as there is a 2nd rookie driver with a race finish - Cyk currently is on top of the table (while being 7th overall) with 10 points lead over Nejc, who made his debut in this round.

For 2nd round in row RGA managed to lock out podium from competition, scoring again all possible 32 points, which puts the 7-time series champions in a commanding 45 points lead over 2 closest rival teams Zafiralis and Yes Motorsports, both represented by a single driver. The 5-time nations champions Lithuania are currently leading nations standings by 22 points over defending 3-time champions Finland, rest in the table are single driver nations, which are led by Canada in 3rd position overall,3 points apart 2nd position.

If this round could be considered as the most difficult, next one surely will be the most dizzy one - 100 laps around the short 600 meters oval might seem a lot, however with laptimes around 22 seconds, this will actually be the shortest race in calendar this season. The car for this race is the 345 horsepower Imprezzive, known for many from RandomCar,but in AWS it will be unleashed with full power, which will be controlled by knobbly tyres on a slippery dirt surface - powerslides not optional!
