Hello,

Just wondering how a lot of you guys render those pictures from LFS to make it look 3d etc? Im guessing your using a program like 3D Max or similar?

Also is it just clicking a button and it renders it or do you have to add effects and so on to do it?

Thanks

Most use 3D Studio Max. Some use Lightwave or Cinema4D.

Basically you can have it any way you want it.
If you want to learn something and/or give it your own touch you'll have to map textures onto the model, set up lighting, make materials, etc.

But there are pre-made scenes available, with those all you have to do is hit render.

im guessing they are expensive programs. iv always wanted to have a go at 3d renders, but never had the faintest idea about it.

When you have the internet programs are never expensive

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

where can you get them from? or are they the type of programs that will end up getting me behind bars
I will not know if you will behind bars or not, but if you carry on discussing this subject matter with bryanviper in this forum. You could get banned.

i was merely trying to find out if he meant there where demos/trial versions, or actually where dodgy versions going round. id never get a dodgy one. thanks for the heads up anyway.
I could not tell you here anyways.

But there may be a trial or something out there. Try searching for those programs posted above you might get lucky one of them could have a 15day trial or similar.

Ciao
Theres a trial for max 7 and 8 on their official site.

Also for rendering, some people use the standard renderer you get with their package, i know some on here use vRay and Brazil. All of which have trials.

Wouldn't recommend using a pre-made scene to learn. Since you'll open it and have absolutely no idea what you're looking at. You'll learn 20x more by following a tutorial ( I'm sure there's one for lfs somewhere? ) and making your own.

However if you do want to see the pre-made scenes you will need brazil. You can get it at www.splutterfish.com and there's a free version available. Unfortunately this only does tiny renders. I'm sure there's another program to do something about that, called bigrenderer or something.

As for the pre-made scenes they're here. http://ds-autos.digiserv.net/scenes.php

I think you can view them without brazil but when you render you'll have an ugly grey blob for a car. But most of the car parts will be visible since they're standard textures, the body however isn't.
Ryan's 100% right. The tutorial for LFS renders is on www.lfswiki.net

If that dont work, download the pdf in my attachments. Its the exact same thing. it gives you all the links to programs you will need and tells you everything from beggining to end.

Its the way i learnt and probs how everyone else who renderes learnt, and tbh, everytime i set-up a scene and render, i get the satification that I did that, not downloaded from somewhere else.
