I don't know if you get Radio 2 in RiGunland, but on saturday they are interviewing Gilmour, Rick Write, Nick Mason and I think Roger Waters about Syd Barret as the one year anniversary of his death is soon.
No, I've only heard one song off of the album (In Black and White I think) and while it was decent, it was not enough to make me want to buy it. To be honest, I've downloaded a couple of their cds in the past and been disappointed; 'The Collection' has most of their best music, though, so I bought it without a second thought. I'll have to check out Unia a little more in depth and see if I like most of it, at which point I'll buy it for sure.
Awesome. I remember one year when I was driving down to Florida with my folks. I had a cd in the car (which was all metal, but the lighter stuff mostly) and when it was finished, my mom goes "Oh, finally!" And then my father's cd comes on with those immortal words "I AM THE GOD OF HELLFIRE!" Classic moment.
Yeah, Unia is a lot slower than their previous albums, with lost of songs doing odd things with different keys and time-signatures. I must admit I prefer their older, super-fast stuff.
Probally the best almbum they have released, the music that came afterwards, like Hate Crew Deathroll (or what it is spelled) was a big bounch of crap compared to the old albums :/
Bought 'Zeitgeist' by The Smashing Pumpkins (well... Corgan and Chamberlin at least) and it's been playing non-stop for a few days. Liking it very much, thank you. Not much filler on this album compared to their previous collaboration by the name of Zwan.
I wish they didn't use so much keyboard in their songs, but just use it to put an exclamation on the already stellar guitar and drum work. Ah well, great music anyways.
Yup, heard some Stratovarious. I had a bunch of their music a while ago but lost it in an HD failure. I'm going to have to go through their stuff and pick out a CD that has a lot of stuff I like on it.
Ugh... I need to stop buying CDs, I can't afford this right now! :P
