The first time I saw them, they opened up for Alice Cooper. I dunno - 20 years ago. They were God awful. And their sound guy was more wasted than any two of them put together. It was mainly Axle Rose that was screwing up.
Forgot his lyrics and was out of sync a few times. After seeing them that night, I never thought that they would become what they did. Don't really remember them the second time as I was as wasted as what they were the first time around
Was FORCED to listen to (Yuck!) Joe Jackson (DOUBLE YUCK!!) today at work.
Aw bless Joe Jackson. He is a very, very talented chap, who deserved much more success than he got. His recent stuff is awful of course, but that's what getting old does to you.
I like one of his songs... I don't know the name of it, but it's got lyrics having to do with a little sister that's a tramp and hates her mother. But yeah, alot of his stuff after Steppin Out really reminds me more of something like The Carpenters or Barry Manilow. And that's weird because the very first time I heard him, he reminded me of Iggy Pop.
