Just curious.. does anyone know of any good space battle games afoot? I'm looking for something that might have a slightly epic-type battle to it, but is still in an FPS style. (Basically, something like European Air War, but in space... with space fighters..)

I've just had an urge to blast some random menacing foe out of space lately...

Freelancer is an awesome game.

X wing allience for sure! bringing down a imperial star destroyer with 2 fleets of B-wing, Y-wing blasting towards it while the X-wing deals with the tie figthers, best experience in similiar genre for me.

I had such a blast playing X-Wing vs TIE Fighter back in the late 90s, I almost want to get a Wingman joystick again :up: Best thing LucasArts ever did

Babylon 5 "I've found her" is a space combat flight sim which puts you into a Star Fury, it's a challenging and deeply involved game not recommended for a five minute blast if all you want to do is blow s**t up. However if you want something to get your teeth into it's really not bad.

Thanks for the input guys That Babylon 5 game sounds interesting; and I've been meaning to try X-Wing Alliance for a while, but I've been put off by the aging graphics. I'll give it a go either way I guess

You could also try Conflict: Freespace (and 2)... You in a little fighter flying near some cruisers and 2 kilometres long flagships... A bit older than Freelancer though...

I remember there is high poly model and high res texture pack made for X-wing Alliance.
