So after hours of slaving over 3ds max and tutorials, I came up with my first usable model.

(the middle of the rim is missing because it's part of the default tire model and I replaced that with my tire model)

Hmmm quite dark, I cannot see much. But good for your first attempts. :up:

it's the lack of lighting I imagine

yea, it looks like you have the light source above and behind the car, try moving it to the front of the car so it shines on the tire
