New to AutoX, trying to figure out what all the different cones mean
I just recently started playing withthe autoX features of this game, downloading layouts and trying to run them.

I get confused by all the different cones and what they all mean. There seem to be cones with stripes on then, cones laying on there side etc....
On some course, I can figure it out, on others no matter how many times I run I get lost.

Does anyone know where I can find some kind of guide on this. I have been all over the web and have yet to find this.

Thanx
Gary
There is no fix rule for this. The layouts are made by individual people, so the cones are also used individually.

But if you cant find the right line on a track, its a bad track anyway imo.

I remember when messing around with the editor on bl_gp, I was placing ramps on the straight for a jump so i used 5 or 6 AI to judge the landing ramps, then I placed some different cones alongside the jump ramp just for show. When the AI got to the ramp they began to slow down and go around the newly place cones
When I removed the cones the AI went on as normal, I also asked this very question at the time on forum, no seemed to know either.
I guess the different colour cones must have some sort of application
I think the only hard rule is that a cone on its side is a pointer cone, it is telling you where to go next.
Yeah, I figured out the pointer cones for the most part. I came across a setup that had cones something like

^<<<<<>>>>>^

Does this mean there are two options.

Also, lets say there are 10 cones lined up in a row spread out far enough that you could weave thru them. My assumption is that I would only weave through them if pointer cones indicated that. Otherwise I just treat them like a boundary.

Good info on using the AI, I think I will try that once I figure out how to.

Gary
I always understood that a cone on its side next to an up right one ( so ^< or >^) mean go round the cone on the side that the cone points to.
So "^<" go round the cone on the left and ">^" means go round the cone on the right.

As for colours i dont know, sorry.

That would actually be a slalom, not a boundry. You would need to weave through the cones. If its a slalom it would be after a gate of cones

gates would be like:
^________^

you would drive between those and then the slalom would be directly in the middle of the driving lane a few feet down and you would weave through
Best bet is to find an autoX server and watch a few runs, then jump in!
