@ 170 kmh or.. 105 mph, it doesn't surprise me that someone who most likely has extremely little to no experience at high speeds would be able to crash that easy; it could have been a slight turn since he did get a little close to that other car.. so it doesn't surprise me that that happened
quite honestly im surprised the camera person and im guessing the driver too is still alive to show it off.. that car was nothing, i wonder what happened exactly cause.. there are some weird dents in it that i can't even begin to imagine what happened
Audi A6, I would think that those audis are quite stable on those speeds, especially if compared to similar, cheaper cars. Hmm, "powerful", heavy fwd car. Maybe just a wind plus that he turned the wheel at the same and eased the throttle. Even without the wind it may throw the rear out like that. It was night time, so it might have been black ice (or how do you call it).
Anyhoo, if he had driven LFS he would have not spun
EDIT: One chance is that the rear got loose when he steered back to right and then overcorrected it.
EDIT2: Yeah, I'm pretty sure that he just overcorrected it with too much steering and lifted the throttle
Cause he's an idiot. I see this all the time on a show called Police Videos that comes on a billion times a day here. Dummy's running from the cops down the highway, turn too suddenly to switch lanes and they're toasted.
FYI, black ice is when you have a milder sunny day in the winter and in the shadow of the trees, the sun doesn't allow ice to melt. Because of the shadow, you can't see the ice and don't know it's there. The news media over here is now exploiting the term "black ice" and calling all icy conditions "black ice". It is a term that you really have to watch for when riding a motorcycle on a nice sunny winter day. It is a big pet-pieve of mine everyone now calling icy conditions at night "black ice". If it was icy in night conditions, I wouldn't exactly be riding my motorcycle, so I wouldn't exactly have to watch for black ice. This really got to me for some reason, everyone starting to call all ice "black ice" last winter. You can't have black ice at night because there are no shadows from the trees to hide it.
thats an easy accident; ride a scooter and lean back and watch what happens...
your arm will pull the gas, and it will slip from under you and then your out
I think you are right into some degree
You get black ice when the road surface temperature decreases fast to below zero and "drains" the humidity from air, which then in tun forms a very thing layer of ice on the road. So first is the humidty and then the cold. Of course the term "black ice" refers to this particular form of ice which has formed in this partical way. Imho, you are talking about icy roads getting the ice melted by sun. It is as black ice when it has been raining on evening followed by a cold night after it = slippery at times
scooters are illegal in me town. After the year were 7 people got hit by cars & trailers(none on scooters) the town decided to ban them.(??)
In the first on he seems to start going off and then the change to the 40 sec later thing, my guess is he hit something with the front left, spun and hit a wall with the rear area.
I've seen the first video with Audi A6 before and the reason for crash was simple: a tyre blew. Symptoms are correct and it can happen to you even if you're not a retard. AFAIK same happened to Richard Hammond (at a "little" higher speed).
I may be wrong here, but that doesn't look like a blowout for me. Loosing the rear end happens a lot faster when a tire blows out. I think that the Audi crashed because the driver underestimated the inertia building up in those speeds, or over-estimated his own skills. Anyway, he was turning too fast and when the rear started to skid, made a too slow and big countrsteer and lifted the throttle, that set the car loose and unreturnable.
Luckily he didn't hurt any innocent people and only victims were his self-confidence (for a reason!) and his daddys audi..
I see people rear end people on the highway every day doing speeds of no more than 80km/h....I don't see how it's impossible to make a mistake doing 200km/h. Yes if he was just driving in one lane in a straight line, but he wasn't, he rapidly changed across two lanes...as frokki said, there is a lot of inertia at those speeds. Just making a single turn probably would have been fine, but it's the flick it one way and then quickly the other way that really upsets a car (hence the Scandinavian flick used in rally driving and drifting....).
