Good point. Well I'm sure there IS a reason the locked diffs are quicker, but blow me on the back straight if I know why

For me it's definitely preload.

In the XRT I can get around locked diffs by manually locking the diff using a tad bit of power, but in cars with more power this feels uncomfortable and a locked diff is the better and more stable choice.
So I use LSD diffs in the XRT, but it requires an unrealistic driving style.

why do i always miss the good stuff/sessions ?

i still believe its lack of preload

btw what exactly is the pump setting on a diff for ?
Wouldn't that only apply to hydralically activated clutch pack LSD?

I believe pre-load would make a noticeable difference in LFS, otherwise you have an open diff when not on power/brakes and you can easy spin one wheel if it's on a much lower traction surface/air.
