Quote from spankmeyer :Why...

would...

we...

need...

car classes...

and class options...

when many of the current cars in S2 are rarely used online? 'Options this options that' sound good on paper, but sometimes they just backfire.

No we don't need NOS or backfire options either.

Agreed , we don't want a NEED FOR SPEED LOOK-A-LIKE game, with nos and stuff...illepall

Quote from TypeRCivic :i want to be able to change boost and displacement and all other kinds of stuff. I'm not sure if there is anything out there but if so let me know

If you want all those , i quote from s14 drift "RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEERRR" things, then just go play Need for speed underground... :riceboy:

Quote from Jamexing :True to quite an extent, though with more power and grip (aka higher speeds), things tend to get more "interesting" (aka unforgiving).

Yes more power and grip makes things more "interesting" but then we have the GT spec versions of the road cars for this reason. What is the point of modding up a road car when all you will end up with is the GT car???

Quote from Jamexing : There is the possibility of separate power and chassis classes. For instance, 280hp class, 300hp class. Or we can use it as a balancing tool. For instance, the XR GTT vs FXO race could be run with 10 extra hp for the XR GTT to even things up a bit. All this, of course, requires servers to possess the option to specify power limits for specific cars. In essence, this is sort of like a ballast sytem in reverse, speeding the unfairly slow cars up instead of slowing the fast cars down. Imagine a souped up XR GTT vs RA race.

Anyway, it's actually a bit too early to worry about these things now, but engine modification could open up both a whole new can of worms AND a new world of possibilities

Most race series have strict rules on what can and cant be done to a car to make the race balanced so it makes sense to lock the car engines.

The only racing that does not is boy racer street racing but don't get anyone here started on this subject as it is just NOT racing. More a bunch of morons putting other people lives at risk to show who has the loudest BOV and the most stupid looking car anyway. illepall

Well, that's nicely concluded.

Quick, someone lock this thread so someone else can start a brand new one on this topic next week!
