How in CCWS does the power boost work (Turbo pressure, rev limit, ECU mappings, fuel/air mixture ...)? Also, how many shots are drivers allowed? I'd also be grateful if someone told me when the introduced it.
This article was from July 2004 and seems to be the introduction of the system. There are plenty of other articles available from Google, including this one.
I watched the last race in Mexico this weekend (or some of it anyways) and apprently the boost varies per race. The way the announcer worded it that's how it came across to me, anyways. I thought they usually were given 1 minute of push to pass, but in Mexico they were given 3 minutes.
I believe it modified the engine mapping to give them an extra 60 HP.
