Weird forces
My car has these weird "twiches", it moves and jumps a little when in place, it looks like someone invisible is shaking it! It looks freaky. It does this even in the garage menu, not just on track! And these weird forces affect the car so much its impossible to drive. What could cause this weird physics problem?
Im running LSF S2 alpha demo.
If you have a G25 (or maybe any Logitech wheel), make sure that in the profiler the overall effects strength is not higher than 100%. At least for me that also caused ghost forces.
No, its not the wheel, you see it when everyone is cued up for a race; like the cars have ants in their pants. Watch a replay with over 10 cars and you'll see it.

but he says it happens in gararge aswell?
maybe your PC isnt up to LFS
I dont use a wheel, i play with keyboard, or keyb/mouse. Well, its probably my PC, its a little older, but i still dont get it. I mean, the graphics look fine, the framerate's ok...one would expect that these things would break up on slower PCs. But this was unexpected - my PC is making up forces? If someone has had a similar problem, please help. Thanks
Ah that's what you mean, I recall seeing that, too. It's probably the torque the engine exerts on the car body during acceleration, exaggerated by lag. Looks quite silly. :twirl:
But doesn't the XFG have a transverse mounted engine?
First of all, thank to everyone for answering, and for AndroidXP:

That's not it either. - these "forces" manifest themselves even when there's absolutely no acceleration involved. It looks quite silly. And makes driving impossible - all the self-jumpin'n'self-bumpin makes the car loose grip. Is it a kind of bug? I really see no logic in blaming my slower PC (AMD 1200, GForce 2 Pro, 256 DDR) - wouldnt that "slowness" be affecting framerate or graphics? It doesnt. It makes up forces...I just hope someone with the same experience bumps into this post...
Wow, what framerate are you claiming as not being affected? You really shouldn't be able to drive at all with those PC specs, seriously. If I dip down into the 20's, not only is it visually laggy, but also the control of the car is laggy. You would end up reacting very late due to the control and visual lag. Could be why it appears that there are weird forces on your car.

So, what is your framerate? Anything below 30 for me is unplayable. Back in the original S1, I could get away with down below 20, but not with the greater physics and graphics of S2.
