Gigi Galli had quite a massive accident in the German rally, broken leg, out for 5 months. I was suprised how little damage the car seemed to have, but you can clearly see on the video most of it was internal damage. Apparently he hit a tree stump, so I expect most of the damage would be in the area of the front left wheel which you can't see in the video.

broken femur is extremely serious

Not uncommon to have people die from it. The femur is responsible for most of the blood cell creation in your body, and having a broken one isn't really good for that :P

According to Autosport they had to operate on it, he was airlifted to hospital, and doctors say it should take 5 months to heal.
