Never happens to me of course, but I notice this with other usernames in the connections list. Sometimes when a player joins with any username, and then chooses to change it at some point, the new nickname doesn't show on the connections list... it stays as the previous one. But on the track with the name above their car, it shows the new name. This bug isn't specific to one person, since it happens to everyone else on the server too.
I've seen this many many times in Patch V now, and I am often very confused when it happens, because you could be watching someone and their name isn't listed. I don't know what causes it

His name was suddenly different when he left the pits, and there never was a global message of his name changing.
Barroso tells me that when he tried to change his name (When spectating), he "couldn't change it because a player was connecting". After that he left the pits and it said his name correctly. He says he is using profiles with LFS for his friends to switch around, so this wasn't a renaming of a profile/playername... it was a profile switch.
