For Windows NT, 2000, XP and Vista: %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\
However that can be changed by the following registry key. If you know what you're doing, please feel free to check, but trust me when I say that I've never seen a store bought PC, nor seen a custom built PC recently, which actually moves the files location.
\HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\DataBasePath
Honestly, the problem will fix itself, and if you go ahead, you should remove the entry you've added once the records have propagated.
