When S2 final will be out, S2 Alpha has been out for ~2 years + ~1 year for development. So, it took 3 years for S2 and S3 will come in 1 year?

Remember folks, just because the day will arrive that S2 is deemed "finished" doesn't mean that S3 will be "out" the following day. The day that S2 is finished is when the coding for S3 will start (I would believe some stuff is coded here and there now as Scawen comes up with ideas he can't risk forgetting about). So, even when S2 is "finished", I imagine it will still be some time before anything with S3 will be released.

Why worry about it anyways. Just enjoy what we have now.

At a guess, I'd say LFS development would continue so long as:
a) there is stuff left to do
b) it remains financially viable (i.e. people continue to buy licenses)
c) the forums don't drive Scawen insane

no, you will be given S2 Final free if you have S2 alpha as your license works on both

When S2 will be finished, we will get updtes for it. Remember, last S1 patch was H. After that (okay, maybe before, we don't know that) S2 was started.

Does S2 not feel like a finished product to you? It sure as hell does to me.

After each session on LFS I have to remind myself that it's still officially a 'work in progress' and after each patch I seem to be even more impressed. Compare that to sims you pay much more for which are released with multiple bugs which, if they're not fixed in the one and only patch to be released, you have to just live with (GTL anyone?).

With LFS you know, you just KNOW, that a great sim is going to get even better. Waiting for it is easy when the version already released is as good as it is.

So ... patience people. Race on.

I'm sure if S2 Final is released and some bugs appear anyway which affect compatibility or people's experience there will be a patch for it because it needs fixing, but I very much doubt new features will be added. After all, the reason why S2 is still alpha is not because of stability issues or bugs, but because it's not feature complete.
After S2 is final, the devs will probably have a little time off and then start working on S3 features and content working towards the first S3 Alpha release.
