Hi peeps,
this is my first skin attempt (ok there's been plenty of bodged ones that I daren't put on here...), so constructive criticism and any hints or tips are welcome. Please bear in mind I'm totally hopeless at this sort of thing and have been using paint.net as it's free and I can't get along with gimp.

There's a patch of white near the rear on both sides I need to get rid of, and somehow the the white lines at the front don't look right when viewed head on.

Please feel free to adjust it if you're bored

Well, you should somehow smoothen the lines. I don't know what GIMP can do but maybe a softer brush? Good skin for a first attempt, I don't know what's up with that fish but I think it's funny
Nice skin Its more of a St Georges cross with a white and blue background as you dont have the diagonals.
As for improvements i think really just smoothing the lines and maybe darkening the blue slightly as it doesn't look right being the bright IMO.

Off-topic - If your just looking for a union jack fox then PM me and ill find mine out (or check out my master skinnerz garage 2nd Page - link in sig)
Cheers for the input guys. Maybe I will make the blue a bit darker. As for smoothing the lines - it took me hours to get them that smooth . I'll keep trying.....
Thanks for the offer of a union jack jack skin, but I like the fact that I'm using my own home-made skin. Bit like how you feel when you cook a meal you made yourself rather than using something out of a packet!

The fish is a Lamprologus Occellatus (hence my name - Lampoc). My favourite of all the Lake Tanganyikan cichlids - my other hobby
I understand what you mean, the feeling of driving round with a skin you created for yourself

Ive never used GIMP but is there no pen tool (photoshop term i know) for creating paths and vectors. Any GIMP users care to help?
I'm using paint.net - I can't along with gimp.
Quote from paint.net :Paint.NET includes simple tools for drawing shapes, including an easy-to-use curve tool for drawing splines or Bezier curves

It seems you can create curves in with it also, no idea how or what tool but its possible Just use whatever tool creates the bezier curves and it will give you smooth edges
