Engine settings!
hi. why u can change suspensions settings, tyres, and all.. but u cant do anything to engine!!!

For example:

- tune turbo
- tune carburetor
- possibility change exhaust, coolers, ect..

that will be do races harder and interesting.
AND!! if engine modification possibility comes. i hope then comes dyno to..

But ho needes that??
drifters..
dragters..
all ho wanna more power to cars..

then u have challenge whit engine temperature.
but if u tune u engine. that can broken. then u cant tune too much power and that difficult.

MORE EXITING TO RACES!!

im sorry my bad english.
no no no! everybody will use most powerfull settings.

just like now nobody use Inferno setups...

/me runs away with Inferno setup
cause some categories in the championships they don´t allow that changes, just to put a "puesta a punto" (everything what you said)

maybe
Turbo will be tuned when the engine is designed and built - no need to change it for a particular race track really.
Carbs/Injection will be tuned for a given engine, with given components like exhausts etc
Exhaust, coolers etc linked with the rest of the engine.

LFS is all about drivers racing in equal cars, and the suspension is tuned to allow a driver to maximise himself in the car. Engine tuning has nothing to do with allowing one driver to get more out of a given package, and will make races worse and less interesting overall.

Dynos won't really be needed - all you need is LFS to output the power curve instantly.

I know it's really a bit more complex than this, and there are exceptions to almost every rule, but by and large the vast vast majority of people are against engine tuning.

Engine de-tuning on the other hand might be good for wet races, but that would just be lower turbo boost pressures really. I don't think cam timing or ignition timing would be worth the hassle and complexity really, especially as to model them will require full engine simulation - the sort that can't be done in real time at the moment.
There was some engine tuning program posted a while back, I think on here or maybe RSC. You could change pretty much everything about the engine in terms of cam profile and it also had some stuff for tuning the shape of the intake and exhaust. Anyone remember the name of it?

but if u use most powerfull.. engine temperature up fast.. and u cant race a long time.. if all doesn´t like that idea.. they can separately join these races where engine tuning is illegal..
