Im not 100% sure, but here goes,

The links at http://www.liveforspeed.net/?page=links are not plain html, they are embedded in some php-script thus not being recognized as backlinks by google. Backlinks, ie inbound links from sites with a high(er) pagerank (in this case 5) will help to increase the rank of the pages they link. Ultimately resulting more hits for the linked websites.

Victor, if my theory is right, could you please change the way lfs.net links to other lfs sites?

maybe, although i wouldn't be surprised if google followed the redirected link as well.
But on the other hand I rarely look at the gathered counts tbh, so might as well make them direct links. Though not today - i'm done
