Mp3 file question
Ok, heres the deal, I have an album in mp3 format, problem is the whole album is one big mp3 file, rather than it being seperate files for each track.

How can I "chop" this large mp3 file into the "tracks"?

Cheers

Dan,

Audacity + Lame (Lame so you can re-save it into MP3 tracks again)

Err....any chance of adding a bit more "meat" to the reply?, what the hell is Audacity + Lame

(P.S., I am not that "UP" on the technical side of Mp3's)

Audacity = Audio Editing Program
Lame = A file that you must find yourself that lets you save as an mp3

I'd create a cue file and use that to split it into seperate tracks. Basically in the cue file you specifyy the time intervals for the tracks. Then you can use a program to split the single mp3 into seperate tracks. This method is very accurate and winamp can play back cue files as if they were seperate tracks. When you go to burn the cue file you also don't get any gaps in the playback.

That all sounds awesome, but reading it in my head is like, la la la la la la

How do I create a "cue" file

EDIT: I have a "cue" file already with the big mp3 file, how do I use it to do what you said?

Ahh you already have the cue, awesome Open it in notepad and you should get a rough understanding of what it all means.

All you need now is a "cue splitter" program, I don't know any off the top of ym head but google should give you plenty of results for some free ones. They are very easy to use.
