Savastore Sucks Ass!
It needed such a title, because they do indeed, suck ass.

I bought my DFP from them mid-december, as it was the cheapest around, no wonder why. the extra cheap-ness is to cover there Shoddy customer service, aswell as there expensive service number, which i was on for 10 minutes! (which wasnt busy, as they was f**cing eating when they finally answered, and took me of basterding green sleeves!)

Then at the end of all that, i had some dam "Ethnic minority" on the other end, who i could hardly understand 1 single word coming out of her mouth, i managed to get "send" and "email" that i could understand.

so, anyways, i get my RMA number, yadda, they request i send by courier, so i do, then 2 days after the wheel arrived at their depot, THEY CLOSE DOWN!! (Well, bought out) due to being 13m in debt! and ive been 4 weeks without no dam wheel, and Mouse and KB is F-Ing Murder!!

So i finally send out some threat emails "if i dont get my wheel in 7 days etc etc) in hoping they will get it sorted out. the takeover was only supposed to take a week, which is still 4 weeks in the making!

So What have we learned? - Savastore sucks, pay the extra tenner and get it from a place which has good customer service!
Youch. Although I can understand why they left you on hold - £13m takes a long time at 10p/min
148 years if my calculcations are right...
I use Scan.co.uk for all of my hardware purchases (except RAM, which I get from Crucial - more money, but they guarantee compatibility) and their customer services are fantastic. The only problems I've had with my orders from there have been with 5hittyLink.

Problem is they don't have a great selection of wheels, since they're mainly actual system suppliers. I believe they have G25s though
You just picked a bad time to buy from Savastore im afraid.

I have used them numerous times in the past without ANY problems. They also consistantly had the best price I could find and had a good order tracking system.

I hope they get things sorted out, but it looks like you go the sticky end of the stick I find Ebuyer as the next best alternative IMO. I usually pick between the two, but it looks as though Savastore are out of the question for now.
why did you send you wheel back anyway?
i had a problem with mine and instead of the hastle i rang logitech.
they send me a new wheel within 10 days, i managed to fix the old one myself so now i have 2
Yeah, i realised i should of rung logitech, but i was gunna ring em when i got my new one so i could have 2.

i managed to find the store number, mite give them a bell inamo

Or here. Got a 7600GS dirt cheap then overclocked the hell out of it

Shame they're closed at the moment because of this takeover thing.

I think the point is that you don't have a problem with companies like Savastore, until you have a problem with a product you buy from there. THEN you discover the problems with Savastore, and similar companies.

People who have had problems with goods from Savastore, and entered into their Customer Service cycle, and STILL report good experiences.. well, I've yet to meet one.

Obviously coupled with the fact that they are being taken over just now.

Otherwise I would assume that their normal customer service is really no worse than any other web based supplier.
I have never used Savastore, so cant comment..
I use either Novatech or Dabs for my stuff, and the times I have had to use the customer service at Novatech have been memorable for all the right reasons.. I have never had any problem with their HELPFUL, ARTICULATE, FRIENDLY, POLITE and above all....UK-BASED staff...EVER!
They even answer the phone quickly as well! (prolly put down the pizza as soon as it starts ringing, instead of waiting for Domino to deliver the next one!!)
Funny, I've been a customer of Savastore for years - used to pop down to their shop in Luton mostly (Watford Electronics it used to be called). Only time I had a problem with a component from there was a faulty HD, which they tested on the spot and replaced in a few mins.

Reading more and more bad things about them online though..I normally use Dabs these days.

Same here, and the sign still says Watford Electronics . I've never really ordered anything from Savastore online, always popped into their shop (if you can call it that) and ordered. Always had someone to shout at when things went wrong . Although I'd never had any major problems with them I'd be weary of ordering online from them. Their stock level things been saying 2-5 days for the last 2-5 years.

Having someone to yell at is always nice when stuff goes wrong

First time I used a proper wheel was there too, a momo red, on NFS Underground

ok, nearly this exact problem has happened to me, i ordered a DFP on 10th December and i still havent got it(partly down to the crap postal workers). They had it dispatched and everything waws good untill i found out that it got lost in the post! I have since ordered another one(free) and then find out that Savastore get taken over. This was supposed to be for my Xmas present.
