Is there a way to change the color (not blue, green, or silver) on the Windows XP taskbar?

May not be completly legal here, but there is a free way of altering colors/look of Windows, it turns off the uxtheme certifying check to allow custom themes. These themes can be found at deviantart.com.

the only thing im trying to do is edit the taskbar and make it orange, maybe make the start menu ornagge too

I use Windowblinds - right now my PC looks like its running Vista, buts its just XP (I get bored and change it every few months, lol)

Best thing to do is download a new uxtheme.dll and use download new standard XP themes rather than using Windows Blinds which wastes memory.

If you patch uxtheme.dll you can use any style you want. Here is some software that will do it for you.. Multi-patcher 5 Pretty sure its legal, I don't think softpedia would have posted it if it wasn't..

There are also guides and a few other programs if you Google something like 'patch uxtheme'

nice theme thanks alot for this but strange is that i cant find it over the regular download page. Besides, are there any other themes? XPEnergyBlue is already installed

There's the page, if you look, "Personalize your PC" is on the bottom right, click that and it will download the theme.

I've attached a picture of what it looks like, too. The wallpaper doesn't come with the theme, but it's available for free at www.digitalblasphemy.com
