I just had a look at the list of longest-standing WRs. Interesting, but it seems more like an illustration of the frenzy that must have possessed hotlappers after the last reset of WRs.
What might stimulate hotlapping is a list of least-contested WRs. If you ordered the WRs by, say, the relative difference among the top-5, then you could get an idea which WR has still room for improvement. (Especially if you're a non-alien.)
