Track tutorial for 3dsmax
Does anyone know of any good track-making tutorials for 3dsmax? I'd like to make a track, but I don't know where to start. Thanks.

What does that have to do with making a track in 3dsmax?
no there are no "track" tutorials or so you speak of, there is no such thing, its just.. modeling, but instead of something else.. its a track

so.. basically no you wont find anything on making tracks

Well, there was one for RACER on RSC, but I can't find it.

Track modelling tutorials can be found online but not specifically for LFS. There are various methods of track modelling, including the use of splines or lofting a path.

You can also use contour information to model landscapes, including the use of real contour maps to model real topography. You could buy a contour map of your neghbourhood for example, and recreate the local topography of the land around you in 3D.

Mastering a method of making a track in 3D is only half the battle, care must be taken to plan the track. There are many things to consider for good results. Pit placement, width and radius of corners, bumps and irregularities in the track surface, track camber, elevation changes, run-off areas, barrier construction and placement, trackside objects and more.

Making a racetrack in 3DS Max is not difficult, but making a decent track is always going to require planning and hard work for a satisfactory outcome.

You can't make tracks for LFS...
he knows, hes clearing it up for anyone that thinks you can since you're asking a question out of LFS's possibilities

Oh, okay. I am making this track for 3D renders, which is why I posted it in the 3D render forum. I found an old track tut, and I made a little road. I don't yet know how to render cars though. I would use the pre-made scenes, but I have to re-texture them since I dont have brazil. I might also import the track into RACER if I can't figure out how to render a moving camera.
