Mirror effect
Hey guys. Ive been doing a couple of renders with the Brazil R/S renderer and everything looks great with the white background and shadow on the car. Thing is I want to do the mirror effect. I put a square object under the car and put raytrace with full reflection but its not working. Actually I put any material into it and all i still see is the white background and shadow..how do i make it to do mirror or any other material for that matter.

Deadbolt

Oh. And I've searched this forum and didnt see anyone post anything about that just whole 3d max tutorials which i dont ahve the time for. I'm not completely oblvious about 3d max so anyone that could give me a quick way to do it I can probably figure it out. Thanks in advance.
Theres no quick way to magically inject the information into your brain - this isn't the matrix Just have some patience and do the tutorials.

A mirrored effect is very simply added by just making the 'reflect' part of the material anything other than black. The lighter the colour, the more light its reflected. For a slightly more advanced reflect add a map (click the small square next to the reflect field) choose falloff and choose 'Fresnel' from the type menu. Now you can choose the reflect value when you're head-on to the surface and side-on to the surface with it interpolating between these for any angle.
Got it! Thanks for the help!
