I'm well aware of Israel's effect on US politics today (Israel didn't exist during Hitler's day). I was referring to Hitler's specific delusions and the effect they ended up having on world politics. Ironically, Hitler's delusions about Jews and the actions they led to were directly responsible for the creation of the state of Israel within the borders of another nation in 1947.
There is at present a taboo against criticising Israel for anything it does, be it building its apartheid wall in violation of World Court rulings, destroying Lebanon in July last year, continuing human rights violations against the indigenous Palestinians, acting against numerous UN resolutions (Israel and the US have either vetoed or ignored more UN resolutions than Iraq, N Korea, Iran and the rest of the world combined) and many more breaches of law and decency. Anyone who dares criticise Israel (as they would any other rogue state which ignores International Law and opinion) gets labelled an anti-Semite, neo-Nazi or, if they are themselves Jewish like Uri Avnery, Howard Zinn, Norman Solomon, Noam Chomsky among others, self-hating Jews. It not only happens in the US but also here, the UK, practically anywhere. Honest, open discussion about Israel simply isn't permitted to happen in the mainstream almost everywhere in the world. I'm not sure if it qualifies as a conspiracy but it sure is frustrating & disturbing, just like the numerous quotes over the years by Israeli politicians which mention cultural superiority and the right to basically act as they please and screw the rest of us, especially their neighbours.
But that's completely OT ...
