1: ) Ok guys first problem no matter what i cant force AF to work ive got AA and it works in LFS np, but i cant for the sake of me get AF to work ive used my ati tool to try and get it running but still it wont work..

My graphics card is an ati 850 xt pe and im using omega drivers it will be somthing like 6.8 or 6.9 cats theres worked off.

2: ) My other problem is every known then LFS will just drop to desktop the game doesnt crash i can alt tab and im back in the game.. Its as if LFS as a mind of its own and likes to alt tab to my desktop every once ina while. this happens every time i play. Im not sure if its a problem with my firewall, i use zonealarm if that helps.

any ideas guys on how to fix these problems??

Mine does that when something running in the background pops up, like Firewalls or Updates, or MSN if I'm silly enough to leave it on.

If that isnt your case I cant help you sorry.

I do leave my firewall running and somtimes i forget to turn msn off.. But windows updates is disabled.. so you recon its definatly a background task?

Ill close everything off tonight and test it see if it fixes the issue..i had a good feeling it was somthing like that myself. just hope its not my firewall i dont really want to have to knock that off for 1 hour + just so i can play a game.

From what I've seen, its more than likely the background tasks.

I was getting that, back to desk top, after I updated ZoneAlarm. It was because it had turned the auto update back on, soon as I turned it off again it was fine.

If that doesn't sort it you'll have to dig a little deeper, it will be something trying to update or something like that so you'll just have to try and find it.

Thxs for the reply its seems weve sorted the issue i have updated zonealarm think it was about 2 weeks ago. i had a feeling it was something along these lines myself. just wasnt sure if was was a windows service or anything like that giving me the issue and im sure someone else in the past would of had the same issue.. thxs for the help guys. Ill turn auto update off when i get home and im sure it will sort the issue..

Back on to problem one can anyone help with my AF issue its doing my nut in i can run the game flat out but im missing out on AF rendering my textures nicely

What driver version you have.If its 7.4 go back to 7.3 version.

hmm when I had x850xt pe ,no problems with AA and AF with all catalist drivers ,as I bought x1950xt than starts the problems ,with AA and AF and with mid mapping.. can now use onli car7.3 and 7.4 drivers while 7.2 and earlier dosn't recognize my card . All the problem is when I run more 3D application at the same time . In 7.3cats was for me the problem solved temporary by alt+tab and changing some parameter in cat. In 7.4 solve it the reinstaling the whole driver with cat ,but when I run another 3D app (more than one at the same time) the problem is back. No atitray tool help .

and do you have a LCD or CRT monitor? just mapping

the omega drivers are from last year id say 6.8's im using and yer i have a LCD

its weird as ive read all the other thread but those guys ahve problems with both AF and AA i have np with AA no jagged lines what so ever..

its just with AF on the start finsh straight for example i cant see the little start grid lines until im up close and all whites lines on the track also the texture of the track looks craoppy at distance, render as i get close not at distance how i expect Af to work
