Quote from axus :OLOLOLOLollololl. olol. Let's turn it into an *ahem* (censored) competition, shall we? I nearly made my mom drop me when I was 4, by telling her that 60/4 = 15. When she asked me how I did it, I said "Very simple, mom. I divided by two, and then by two again."
Big deal. None of it matters, what matters is what you can do now.

Shaun, good job, lad! Motivation at your age is a rare thing, just keep digging and you'll get far. If you really want to learn about programming, I recommend Bruce Eckel's "Thinking in... " stuff, though it's just Java/C++. Though, C++ is one mean language so you might want to get some experience with other stuff before you dig into that. As for Java, that's more of a high-level language (it hides stuff from you, making programming simpler) so it's not good to just get used to the convenience. Most of Bruce Eckel's books are free for download, from here:
http://mindview.net/Books/DownloadSites
and are quite easily among the best programming books out there. If you need some help/advice with simple programming, setting up compilers etc. feel free to add me on MSN and I'll help you out when I've got a spare minute or two.

Trust this man, he knows the ways.

Agreed, I look at software I wrote 2 years ago and think, I could make that so much better now.
*BUMP* My first actual game (It's called "Volvo C30 Racer" because you race a Volvo C30 ) I focused on the physics more than anything else. Press F1 for help and controls. http://www.speedyshare.com/504324667.html

That ones actually quite a good effort! Gave it a quick blast on 2 player with my GF, and it was'nt too bad.

I think if you chucked a menu on there, a few more tracks and single player, it would be worthy of going on a site like www.freeonlinegames.com.

Good work shaun, keep it up.
Thanks Nathan .
nice one shaun its better than some of thos similar online ones
Big thumbs up there! Well done on making your own creation in GM and I was surprised to find the car could lose grip when going too fast into a bend and didnt turn as fast when it was braking. You've got the right idea, you'll go far if you keep this up.

Couple of tips for game maker:
1, Don't use white, white is a transparent colour.
2, Don't use annoying sounds.

I remember the inbuilt car making game dodar in GM, I think I have a copy of it floating around my HDD somewhere. Linky. But real fun was when I had to use Java so I recreated Pong mofo! Linky. Space Invaders was also a fun one to recreate in Java, but I can't find that one on my HDD.
