I'm using ISDN as well. You may join servers with 19 racers driving. With 20 or more you will get lag. No more driving would be possible. With 'Kanalbündelung' (don't know the english word ) it should be better. But you shoudn't expect any wonders.
that is neer what i calculated. How can i secure that no more drivers joining while racing. So i'll get lags, perhaps crash other cars without intention and get banned? Till now i have no problems at all and i can respect the other drivers. Is it possible that there are servers with only 20 starting slots?
Only join servers with max connections set to below 20? You know, that's what the little number on the server list tells you, like 15/20 would mean 15 slots of 20 available are currently filled.
The problem seems to me then i'm connecting to an server 15/32 my race goes fine. If the number of racers increase, say 24/32, then the speed of my connection is'nt high enouth to race. So my question is if it is possible that there are servers that limit the number of racers to 20? The server list shows then 15/20, that's right.
Yes of course, just because LFS allows more connections in theory doesn't mean that every server owner will allow/use all these connections.
You know, server bills aren't cheap either, and being able to host the full 32 (with spectators 48) connections does need quite the monster server with a very good connection. Not everybody has that.
fist of all 32 car public servers are very likely to result in t1 mayhem (20 cars already did and with 32 it will be just more of the same)
additionally its rare to see a full 20 car grid in lfs as it is so naturally 20+ will be even more rare
so im guessing most of the time you should be fine with isdn
plus if im not mistaken 32 cars will chew up some 16 kb/sec so if youre able to use both isdn channels you should be fine even with a full grid
Lol. I was in the Bug test server the other day with a full field. I was expecting carnage at the first corner but it was fine, people braked made room, cool I thought then I realised why. Scawen and Victor were in the server and the kids were on their best behaviour.
I am really looking forward to this patch with the very latest adds/fixes, like the voting system that will remove one of the more frustrating events within the workings of the sim.
The ''dev'' has said previously that he seriously doubted Patch X wouldn't be out by this Friday...However, no-one can know for sure, as it was demonstrated last Friday!
I still don't see an error in what I said? Maybe a syntax error?
As I said, Scawen said Patch X would probably be released before THIS friday (8th), BUT, there is still doubt, as LAST friday (1st) demonstrated that you can't always predict what bug is going to show up...
Don't worry, it will be out within a few days im sure. Last i read it was going to be no later than friday, but who's counting. Ill be like a kid in a candy store the moment its out Can't w8
