No offense Wheel, it's hard for me to feel bad for you. My daughter's playmate from kindergarten is going in tomorrow for her 2nd open heart surgery. She had heart surgery I think when she was 3 or 4. She just turned 7 last week. Ouch.

No, really, bummer that you wacked your arm like that. I don't know what it's like. The only broken bone I had was my collarbone when I was 3, thus I can't remember it at all.

As for stupid suing? Neighbors of mine when I was just a kid sued an ice cream shop because their daughter lost a tooth eating an ice cream cone from the ice cream stand. They bought a nice boat with the money. The kicker was that the tooth the girl lost was a baby tooth. True story. Idiotic, but true.

And people wonder why stuff costs so much these days and insurance is so high.

[sarcasm] well, tables do tend to be quite hard......[/sarcasm]

People just don't take long to make fun of me just because I'm American. I took my flag down, but people still know I'm American.

Well, from a post like that first one, it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what are the odds you being an American. There isn't another country in the world where people would even think suing for a something like that which obviously happened because your own clumsiness. The is some truth in some stereotypes after all, like we are the drunken bastards!

Dunno what it's like to brake bones though, I've had 14 sticks in my leg, but no broken bones.

Yeah, and you would think you couldn't sue just because you spilled hot coffee on yourself or rolled your vehicle because you can't drive. You can sue for a lost tooth. You can sue for anything. I could probably sue the forum because I'm from the US and everyone flames me and everyone from the US because of some in this country.[/just sarcasm there]

It isn't getting ridiculous, the frivolous lawsuits in the US. It's always been ridiculous. The OP can sue because there are stupid regulations such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Hazards Association). There is probably a regulation that the school must abide by that states any cords laying across a floor must be covered with some type of anti-trip mat or something. Thus, in the court's eyes, the school would be negligent because they were not following regulations.

I don't blame the idiots who are doing the suing. I blame the judges and the lawyers who are allowing this to go on because they are raking the cash from it all.

I was "involved" in a lawsuit once. It was one of those class-action lawsuits against a financial institute. It seems they were over charging for something and the lawyer makes up this lawsuit for like $20 million on behalf of 10 million people who were overcharged. I definitely received my settlement. I received a check for $1.36 along with millions of others receiving probably around that amount while the lawyer took home 30% of the original amount as fees. These things happen all the time and if your name comes up, you are automatically put on the lawsuit. I remember I was quite pissed off at the time because my supervisor then was in it too and he received a check for $1.45 or something, LOL.
Mike, you should sue for those other 6 cents...

Quote from TiJay : And why did he put his arm through a window anyway?

Obviously it was accidental! They were doing P.E. in a room that was meant for assembly's. They were running from wall to wall as fast as they could and stopping themselves on the opposite wall, kinda like the bleep test. Anyway he missed the wall and hit the window!
