Positional Data?
I work for a major robotics company (Fanuc) and wondered about how LFS (or hardware), outputs the positional data that some companys use to build "Sit-In" style chairs that move. One being www.force-dynamics.com. I don't see any reason why this signal could not be fed into one of our robots to do basically the same exact thing. Is this a digital or analog type of signal? One model of robot we have can throw around 210kg at 2000mm/s with 0.18mm of repeatability, I would imagine that would be more then enough.

I work directly with our robots and am just wondring how the data is gathered.

Wild example of an older model.

(Please feel free to move this if its totally in the wrong section.
Read up on OutSim, this is the source of data which you would need to use.

Open the InSim.txt file in the LFS\data\docs folder and scroll to nearly the end of the file (or search for "OutSim - MOTION SIMULATOR SUPPORT").
OMG Beeah!!!!! Since I flight sim, I NEED ONE OF THESE!!!!

That would be the ultimate for flight simming if you could wirelessly send data to a mounted screen and flight controls.

I just watched that video over and over and over again, LOL. I also posted a link on my flight simming forum in the cockpit hardware section. They are talking about motion platforms. Maybe someone will buy one of these from ya. Would beat a motion platform hands down for flight simming, LOL.

Haha nice.

I really don't think it would take to much to get something working if I had a robot to myself laying around. I make a point to talk to one of the Software Eng's about how you would apply that data from the ethernet to the robot.

The range of motion on the larger robots is very impressive. We mount robots like the one in the video to a floor mounted 7th axis that the entire robot can move on, these rails can be over 50m long.

I wonder if I could buy one at a discounted price?
