Pocono 500 cut short
The Pocono 500 (Nextel Cup series race) was delayed by rain for 3 hours after the scheduled start of the race, when the rain stopped, the track took an hour to dry. On lap 104, Jeff Gordon is having brake problems that caused the hardest wreck of his career last year at Pocono, extremely worn tires, yet as he is leading and going into Turn 2, he lets off the gas way early to avoid wrecking his car because of rain on the track. Ryan Newman tries to take advantage of this situation, but Gordon manages to hold him off until the caution flag comes out. The field ran 2 laps under caution, then the safety car brings them to pit road for the red flag that ends the race and also gives Jeff Gordon the win.

And please, if you have anything bad to say about NASCAR, don't post in this thread, because I don't want to see a forum war start.
Bah Not Gordon again... Atleast now with the points system setup the way it does even if he has a 1000 point lead it gets cut to 5, or is it 10? I forgot so it doesn't matter how good the first 2/3 of the season were for you as long as you run in the top ten in points and give it 100% during the last 10 races and pray for no wrecks during those 10 races you have a chance of winning the cup... I was a diehard NASCAR fan until new managment stepped in, putting these types of rules in.

Shame they had to cut the race, pocono always has some interesting races.
Races ending due to rain really suck The Indy 500 was terrible finishing with Dario winning... he didn't even have to try, or have the pace. Just got lucky. I bet Gordon walked away with it too.
