tire warm up
i really like the ability to start the race manually
it really adds a lot to the realism
the only thing i want now is a way to warm up the tires before a drag race, or have them automatically warmed to prime temps

does anybody else agree?

I don't do drag races. In fact, I hate them. Though, in terms of 'realism', as this sim strives to accomplish, there should be some form of tire warm-up in drag races, as in real life.

+1, I hope you get your wish
Deffinitely +1 for this, tire warming according to both compound and situation.
with a real drag car and water for the burnout = +9.9 x 10^99
Tyres are already warmed up when you start (blue and temp dependent on compound) , leave it still for 10mins and you will see they cool down to 30DEGC (black in colour)
n the case of a Drag race they should be green already, Danowat

The tires are not nearly warmed up to optimal temps though, they are only roughly temps you'd get from a heat blanket or oven, that is what Scawen has done.

Drag racing should have the ability to manually pre-heat the tires before final staging on the strip.

And if you let the tires cool down for 10 minutes (especially road tires), it shows a huge physics flaw of tire temperature vs. performance. We rely so much on these semi-heated tires that we fail to realize the poor abilities of even a COLD performance road tire in LFS. When, in reality a car should not be sliding at such low speeds when the tires are at normal daytime resting temperature. Also, they take only a few turns to rise in temperature very rapidly, when even a nice set of road tires would never do such a thing. Slick tires are somewhat 'ok', but road tire temperature acts far too extreme in LFS, in both heating and cooling. Something I would like to see Scawen fix someday.

Exactly, tyres are already warmed up, but... IRL if I warm up my tires I can choose their temp: a thermostat is cheap, useful and easy to use
I think we should choose the temp we want in our tyres (and not only in drag races) or start with them at 30ºC.
