ROFL

PD: ROFL with ur avatar
Dude thats the best Avatar in history of internet! Thats awsome...you made it yourself? Could you release a wallpaper version?

About the video, great video! Such a shame! Shame GT (past 2) series shame on you, because at the time the 2 was made, the physics was just fine, but looks like they improved only graphics along time, LAME CRAPPY ASS
It doesn't have a physics engine, why on earth would anyone expect it to handle anything like the real thing?

And we all knew this anyway (as sarcastic posts above prove).
I love that someone is complaining about how unrealistic it is when their analysis is based upon using a joystick, haha. Sure, it's not a huge amount better with a steering wheel, but really... If they want it to be 100% realistic using a PS2 controller I want to see the cars go flying into the barriers the very second you touch the steering.

What difference would it have on those tests????

Oh dear, pls...

edit: before u come and say more shit, heres the reply of the video poster itself, from a dude who made the same question you did.

a) I've played GT4 with the DFP, as I own one. The flaws remain the same. In fact, nothing I demonstrated in the video relied on driving ability -- they were all very simple things that should have been easy to replicate regardless of the controller type.
b) Enthusia Professional Racing is also a PS2 game, yet it's far more realistic.
c) Did I say I wanted perfection? I just want a driving simulator that makes sense.

Bigger but not exactly wallpaper size... originally made it for just "funny pic" and not avatar actually. Credits for whoever did this free clipart monkey figure.

OK deggis i apreciate...

Sweet, ima make large new versions with variations now that my PS skills are decent...imho
The creators themselves stated this in early GT3 Years.

I couldnt find the link, but they said the PS2's Processor, and overall power wasnt good enough to use the advantage of the REAL physics engine they have.

GT3 and GT4 were using snippets of the original code.

Id like to see a GT5 Comparison before any real words can be said regarding GT's Physics engine.
I watched the video, completely agreed with it, and went to laugh at the GT4 fanboys. What good fun.

I have to say, when there's no one playing a decent combo on LFS i'll go lap the 'ring in my M3 in GT4. Sure it isn't realistic, but it's god dam good fun.
To be honest, GT4 would be nothing without the licensed shit, and the sexy-ass graphics.
Im curious...not defending GT4 or anything (concience - O RLY?) but how many people here have played GT4 without the driving aids, with a wheel and changed the wheel settings to simulation?, I can't remember where exactly you do it but its in options. The only difference maybe that my arms hurt after long hours and I start to sweat...but its not that bad from my point of view.

Nice video btw, I enjoyed how the author didn't realise that no one drives in real life with 2 joysticks, and that drifting isnt the easiest thing in the world. Seriously he was attempting to drift a supra in GT4 without suspension adjustments? ...funny people.

Also I found a video which was probably made by someone who bothered to find what makes this game tick (not literally) and upon closer examination the video cotradicts some stuff from the original video.(omg i feel like a GT4 fanboy now... Concience: NO WAI!..) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bQtmnbMNQVw

*gets into a flame retardent box*
I actually did today, with my G25 and hated it. There's no way that a car should understeer the way that the cars in GT4 consistently do, especially the Prototypes and the Formula GT. Times where it understeers, I'd expect from LFS and real footage the car should drive thru just fine, maybe with a touch of oversteer, but GT4 seems to have the understeer, and it's impossible to correct it without aide of a wall or gravel pit. Maybe i'll stick to B-Spec mode, something a little less angering. It's fun sometimes, but over the limit it just understeers, no oversteer at all which is totally wrong. Also, quite annoying to not be able to go down thru the shifter box like I'd like to. It also wasn't a try like rFactor, 1 corner, feels shit, remove and uninstall, I won several events in my Formula GT (Try the Supercar Challenge with it, sooo easy! :P), and did some of my super licence tests, but it still felt poor and that's why I'm not currently sitting here looking at the race monitor screen.
uum..If you can't get the car to consistantly stay in the region between understeer and oversteer(favoring over steer), then there is somethin wrong with your setup, I have absoluty no problem with it, unless im in a FF car or a fast car with little or no downforce to the front.

Hmm I just remembered watching this video...

Well, TBH, I haven't set my car up any, I might look online for some setups, see if it feels any better tomorrow (after my b-specced 24 hour race)
Don't look online for sets i can tell you some correctional stuff, really simple.
what I am about to say probably won't work for FF cars, don't worry i hate them ( out of LFS ofcourse ) so that was a main goal.

Pick a car, buy the best suspension, go to the garage, hit start, select he suspension settings. now for the fun, i don't usually stiffen the springs unless i am building an all out race car so ill skip that for now. lower the car all the way then carry it back up by 6 for some working travel, next go all the way down to the sway bars reduce the front setting by one. this usually solves most of my GT4 problems but I only use Japanese cars anyway. < that was basic setup for any new car i may think of buying and i just build around that, as it is more comfortable.

was it in that video that the guy said Buying an LSD does nothing?..ofcourse it will do nothing if you do nothing to it!, buying an lsd only changes if you can set it up or not, otherwise it is stock.

Oh and Dawesdust...24 hour race?, you mean that you actually play this game seriously?. I just tamper with modifying my fantasy cars and throwing around my 12 million credits to make the game as real as i possibly can.
I just needed a 5th Formula GT, but I will take your tips into account in... 23 hours :P
i dont get why people are saying (not on here) that you have to change a cars settings for it to be real O.o, it should be real as standard, plus, it will never be a simulator, unless you can driver whilst hanging onto the roof

I think that if it were real as standerd, the people who drive these real cars on those real tracks would be at a disadvantage to the people who buy the game and instantly think they can win races in real life.
(headache atm)
grand turismo was always crap i don't see how gt-4 is different
There's no reason you shouldn't be able to drift a Supra without changing the settings. Look at Top Gear, they get stock cars sideways all the time, and I don't see them tinkering around with suspension settings..
