It would be nice to be able to script the filters, so for instance, the CTRA could offer a CTRA filter download which adds a button to list just our servers. That'd be nice .
Perhaps with pattern matching in the name (ie: CTRA*) combined with an IP check?.
Truth be told, I have looked at the list quite a few times, seen a combo I like with plenty of people in the server, thought "ooh, I'll go there for a spin, I'm tired of GTRs at Aston", then noticed it's a Cruise/City/Drift server and gone "aw bugger, back to Aston then"
I sure don't have anything against people driving however they want but I don't see the harm in being able to filter servers Having said that, I also don't think it's that important...
theres about 100 populated servers at peak times so its really not that important
2 things i think would be useful is searching server names (with or without text highlight) and being able to mark servers on the list so the line belonging to the server is highlighted making it easier to figure out which cars are allowed
Peak times for Europe are very different for peak times in Australia though. Whether it's after work on a weekday or a weekend afternoon I don't see anything near 100 servers up.
I know its not important, but every detail to make this sim better is welcome id say. I twice tryd a cruise server and i decided its not for me, same for drift. I like to race on crowded servers, so when i filter it on quests this is what i see(check attachment) It would make it alot more easy to find a suitable host if i had this filter!
The most important addition to me, in terms of the server list, would be the ability to sort the list by clicking on the header at the top of each column. Alphabetical by server name, ordered by number of connected players, ordered by ping, etc.
how about sorting and/or filtering by mode? ie, practice, qualify, race
it would accomplish the same thing but without creating explicit divisions in the user base. i'd be very pleased to be able to filter out servers that are in practice mode. then i could live the rest of my life never having to ponder why on earth someone would drive on a cruising server, and i would only have to think about drifters when they spam the forum about their skillz.
Still for it, every time I browse the list for fun combos, half of them end up being drift or cruise servers... I don't want to join them, so they could simply not be on my server list - would keep it tidy too.
This has definitely been discussed before, because I remember commenting on it
Yes, another opion to filter out the non-racing servers would be good. We already have the Type of Racer (Race/Drift/Drag) filter on our LFSW profile, so why couldn't we have that same option as a server dropdown? You choose what category your server fits, then run as normal.
I also think we should have a filter for excluding certain tracks too (bye bye AS3!), but that might make it a bit more complicated.
