high res skins
what is the point? i dont see y we should have to pay again ontop of the $47 that we already payed just to make the game look a little better?
Because the dev's say so.

you don't have to pay, the 512x512 skins are still free
Use the search button before you create a new topic this has been discussed to death.

You arent forced to, Nothing has changed for you. You are only given a choice to pay a couple of quid, which is understandable, a 10x4x1024 size file takes up much more bandwidth than the usual 512, and lets face it, LFS is a product and the devs have to make ends meet.
eh. ok i was just wondering

Not only do you not have to pay, there's nothing stopping you from using high res skins in LFS without paying a cent. The devs have provided a high res in-game auto download service for those who want it, and the tiny price covers the hosting and bandwidth for that service. However you can use high res skins yourself (but not by downloading in-game) just as you always have been able to.

I think the main misunderstanding on this topic is that you're not paying for a special high res version of LFS, you're paying for the extra bandwidth that larger files in the auto skin download system cause.

There's no point comparing the price or the quality of the graphics or the resolution of the skins or the size of the files to any other games as there simply are no other games that have an auto skin download system.
